Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

The other roms made no difference. I was insisting it was the rom because of the way it was acting. My problem seems to be tower-update/repair crap going on. Boost told me that was Not going on where I am, but the phone is doing the exact same thing it does when they are having tower issues, just like in the past, so, ..?

If I go two miles from my house, all works fine with the connection issues I'm having. So I guess I just cant use my phone where I live anymore, or walk 2 miles 20x a day to use my phone,...or they are wrong and are doing tower work like in the past, whatever.

I'm back again. I'm one of those who needs a step by step because I'm afraid of screwing things up. I have CTMod 3.75 now. downloaded 3.80 on my goomanager. I have my SD Partitioned (16mb) 12686 FAT, EXT4 2048, EXT4 688 and SWAP 591. I was told to partition it like this in case I wanted to switch from data to SSM. I have it on DATA now. OK. so I should do a backup on clockwork right? then how do I flash the 3.80CTmod? Can I just do that from clockwork as well? Then install my backup after CTmod3.80 is installed? Is it that simple? Do I need to do anything regarding my SD partitions? Instructions for dummies would be great. Thanks!!!!

You are all good on everything. You need to make a backup incase you want or need to switch back. Now just go to cwm and flash 3.80 and when up and running you have to redo everything, install apps, setup your home pages, ect..... sorry that is the way it is when a new release is, that is different. Any ?'s just ask.

Awesome rom as usual! Installed 3.8 and also installed CTN3.8 to go with it and holy SH..! Love the splash screen on boot up. Rom works great as have all the versions i've tried. My data does drop a lot due to the repairs or whatever boost is doing but battery usage the same for me and loving the rom as usual. Thanks Blood and all involved:)

Love the new update but didn't like the browser much so I switched to Boat Browser.

I one I noticed when I bring down the notifications and if its a text message I click on it but nothing happens. Before if you clicked on it it would take you to that conversation. Not sure if it's just an isolated issue or everyone else is having this problem as well

For me that happens every so often.. 90% of the time it works fine though.

The only thing Ive noticed since installing the rom is it freezes up about once a day. The only thing I really do is text and play music on it I havent even installed any apps yet.

But other than that rom is great..

Good job! :D

OK, what I did first was flash the rom, then the theme. Then I went to the kk settings & changed it to data so I could use my greedy 4gb internal. The theme was beautiful, I did get stuck staring at the boot animation. But it got stuck in a loop, wouldn't boot. So I tried to factory reset (dunno if that actually works with custom rooms). Didn't work. I tried to restore my backup I made after flashing the rom, still didn't work. Stuck in boot loop. So I reflashed the rom, set the kk to data & have not attempted to use the theme again yet. Internal is showing up as a lovely greedy 4gb & everything is great! Love it! The only problem I did have was distaste to the browser, so I tried to replace it with the stock one. Failed, so I gave up & am using the only play store browser I happen to like. I do have a question though.
The reason I tried other roms after using ct3.75 final, was I couldn't figure out how to get the SD to read as internal. The last rom/kernel I switched to had a horribly low in call volume. But CT 3.75 final & honey bread had normal stock volume for in call. Well... after switching to 3.8, thinking since it's an update of 3.75, the volume would be fine again. It's not. The tones & media volumes are fine. But the in call volume, even on speaker still suck. How do I fix this Bloodawn???
Thanx so much for the updated CT!!! Looove iiit!!!

Not exactly sure what version you are actually running of CTMod..... However, for example, if you are running CTMod 3.80, you CANNOT use a theme made for CTMod 3.75 or 3.75.2... and visa verse.... The themehas to be made specifically for the ROM version... this is NOT a ROM issue, but a theme issue..... One of our great regulars ( cwhatever ) made several themes for different version of CTMod......

Check your settings>>>Show All>>>About Phone and see what version of CTMod you're running, then look for themes made for THIS version specifically !

I know the theme stuck the phone in the boot loop. And it was ctn3.8 with the blue flame looking boot splash.
I know certain themes are for certain roms. I am not uneducated to androids or PC's for that matter.

Edit: I have the new 3.8, so both should be compatible, hence ctn-->3.8 ...
As I stated. I flashed the rom, flashed the theme, then set kk to data & it got stuck in boot loop on reboot after that. Had the f-u "buzz-pause-buzz buzz buzz" & did nothing. I never stated it was a rom issue. I love the CT roms. I was just giving details to my actions & the reactions so maybe someone would know why. I was also giving Bloodawn props & asking a question directly in the same post I made.
One other edit: if you read my original post correctly, you'd know what version CT I'm using cuz I said that. And you'd know that I knew the theme caused an issue somewhere cuz I stated "reflashed the rom, set kk to data & have not attempted to reflash the theme yet" then after I said that, I stated I love the rom which makes it clear I knew it was the theme. Please do not reply to my posts as I know nothing about what I'm doing unless you read what I wrote clearly & thoroughly. Thanx.
Blessed be.

Does anybody have the issue that if you reboot, of turn off the device and turn it back up, you lose about 10% of battery percentage?

That's the way any android phone is. Most of the time it's cause the battery stats are wrong and rebooting corrects them. If you reboot again after it happens you'll see you only loose maybe 1%.

I loaded this on a friends phone. He got an 8GB/Class 10 card. I did the partition with MiniTools for Windows. I used this without issue before on a ZTE Merit. I formatted the partition as EX4 and set as Primary. The ROM isn't picking it up. Do I need to set something on the ROM itself, once it boots? Or best to kill partition and use CWM to fix partition and set size?

Thx...

Partition mini tools and the prevail do not get along. That's the reason the instructions say to use kouma's sdparted.apk or the sdparted -i command via adb from recovery.(or via cwm if you only plan to use data mode)

What your going to need to do is repartition the card to just fat using mini tool and then partition it using one of those methods :)

Ok, I'll try something from above. Will the Prevail recognize it, if done using Linux? If so what setting: EX4/Primary ?
