Help Sense 5/6 discussion / setup (Blink feed, etc.)

So before the One, Nova was your launcher, and you like Sense 5, better? That would be very interesting to find more folks that used to prefer another launcher and now prefer Sense 5.! :D

Pretty much, yes.

I do miss being able to change the number of icons in the dock and put more apps on a page but overall I really do like the clean Sense 5 look. Admittedly, it's the first time I have even played with an HTC phone, much less owned one but I really like the stock UI. I imagine I will put Nova or Apex on it at some point but for the moment Sense 5 is sitting pretty with me.

Anyone else having problems getting the calendar to come up properly in Blinkfeed?

I'll admit, It really don't want any social features on Blinkfeed and I'm looking forward to more productivity services for it.

So at present, the only thing I want in there is the calendar but it simply won't appear on it's own. I have to add another feed to get it to pop up and even then it doesn't keep track of the day. It's currently just sitting there displaying Saturday's entries.

Hmmm, I didn't realize that was an option. Unfortunately, though, I'm in the US and haven't gotten a chance to play just yet. If you find a solution, please post. I was spoiled by the Palm Pre's calendar, and keep looking for something kind of similar. Thanks!

I know you can reassign your Home screen to a different panel, but does this mean that Blinkfeed will still be using up one of your seven panels, or can it be removed altogether? Or are you only left with six customizable panels? Or does Blinkfeed perhaps use an eighth panel, so you still have seven?

No Blinkfeed cannot be removed. At least not without rooting and a custom ROM I imagine. Also I am pretty sure you can only have 5 panels (6 including Blinkfeed) but I could be wrong.

I'm not sure what you mean. I have my Auto refresh set to "Using mobile data or Wi-Fi" but it does not Auto refresh.

Ok, that's what I meant. I was going by my discussion with HTC, so I apologize for not describing it well.

Do you have background data on under accounts in your settings? That should be the default.

After that, I got nothing, so it would be a bug as you expected.

I'm having the same problem. I've searched without any luck for a solution. Has anyone found a solution for this yet?

Thanks

So the lovely people that designed HTC Sense giv us 4 options for "customize" out lock screen without downloading a locker. All 4, but one, keep the default 4 icons on the bottom of the screen for "quick launch" capability. There is a problem with this, they are not easily customizable. I dont want to launch my camera from the lock screen or my internet. In fact, I just want a lock screen with NO apps on it.

Is this possible or do I just have to use the 5 choice of no lock screen at all? Anyone else notice this? Anyone else fixed it and I am just blind? I am a 4 year Android user here and I feel like somethings are just getting more difficult instead of less. Love this phone though!

Is it possible to customize the HTC One app drawer (with the stock launcher and no root)?

The new drawer is more like a home screen. It has the clock at the top, the launcher bar at the bottom. And the menu and button for the play-store are hidden. If I wanted something like this, I could just make up a home screen. Wish I could revert to a basic app drawer without all the extra's.

Any way to get toggles to turn on/off things like wifi, bluetooth, brightness, location, etc... to drop down from the notification menu?
Right now, you have to drop down, then press the settings button in the top right to get to any toggles... kind of an annoying step.

I had a jailbroken iPhone 5 and intelliscreenX was SO clutch in the notification menu, so I just got used to it.

I know there's toggle widgets, but they're all so unflattering IMO. I hide them on the 2nd or 3rd page, which kinda defeats the purpose haha

Hi All,

I have just recieved my new HTC one and in general im very pleased with the phone, I moved up from a desire HD.

The one question I have is in regards to the HTC blinkfeed. I have set it all up as best I can but the problem I find is most content is either from or aimed at the US.

I have selected UK and tried to filter the topics but an awful lot of the content it puts on my feed is from American News etc. Is there any other way to change this and maybe point it to the BBC site for its info. I know the phone is very new and so there is limited info on it but although many people I have read about do not like Blinkfeed I can actually see the benefit but obviously only if its relvant to where I live. I dont mind getting global news but it seems to be overun with Local American topics, and as much as I love reading how George bush likes his Pancakes etc id really love to know whats going on a bit closer to home!

Any help on this would be great.

Oh and great site !!

Regards,

Chris.
