Theyll probably stop adding CDMA radios to the phone.
The Huawei premia was suppose to be the last cdma phone out but then again the s4 appear with cdma radio I guess with the deal finalize that might change

the amount of money it costs to have samsung make a seperate backing, all new software, testing, shipping and advertisements. metro isnt going to pay all of that only to say oh hey the merger went through nevermind guys.
im willing to bet it is going to be a new samsung device that may have a snapdragon 400 or a lower specced device.
I'd like to know how and what you know about the July thing.
I've asked here before if anyone had ideas of what prospective near term changes for Metro customers might be and haven't heard anything on that.

Hurray! Lookin forward to the note 3 then towards years end! Hopefully i can keep my plan and use both carriers towers!
nah they wanna keep 2 companies seperate like lexus and toyota the go mobile plan from t-mo will be there version the prepaid plan so if ya want the high end phones ya will have to buy either on contract or unlocked for a full retail price take your pick.
He's talking bout phone selection we probably won't be carrying the same phones as tmobile so you may have to go and buy one from tmobile at full price.
Not sure what you just said.
They have already said metro will be going GSM and all CDMA towers will be retrofited by 2015.
They will do it in small stages so all customers can switch phones to gsm before they turn them off.

Doesn't have to be unlocked though.
The only reason they're doing a reverse merger is so they already have the PCS stock on the market. Its basically like tmobile buying us though because most of the top execs from current tmobile will have the same position in NewCo.
True but Tmo's parent corp Deutsche Telekom wanted out of the US market so they could focus on Europe. But now they can't sell any stock for 18 months so they're being very aggressive here now with the new no contract and iPhone deal. My hope is they wont want to alienate metro customers like Sprint did with Nextel. And who knows what will happen if Sprint chooses Softbank over Dish. Dish network has a lot of cash and, more importantly, they have spectrum. The combined TMo/Metro company may be their next target.
Hey Miguel, you will not need to drop, change, or mess with your, or your wife's plan. After they get the merge going and metro is officially running on t mo's gsm towers (while still operating their cdma towers) You can get a sim card from metro put it into the nexus 4 and have it run. At first it will just run on tmo's network but after they retrofit all the towers the combined company towers will put out the same thing. Will grab my wife an nexus 4 but I still want to stay with metro since my plan is cheaper than tmobile just want to make sure that it will run fine I'm a little confused need a little more clarification if I get let's say any gsm phone and run it with metro that just means It will run hspa since metro only has lte can someone break it down in simple terms

Let me take a crack at this question. If the phone supports T-Mobiles bands, then it should run on both of the networks fine. Check what bands the phone supports before you get the phone. Also no GSM phones will work on metro just yet as metro aren't selling any GSM capable phones at the moment. As soon as that happens you should be good to go.
Thanks kid very straight forward answer don't know what my head was thinking thanks again changes are coming in July
No problem Mike. The merger news have everyone excited.
That would be terrible
Also the DoJ isnt for anymore mergers in the US wireless market so they're likely to block the deal like they did with AT&T/T-Mobile
Yeah I agree it would be terrible. But Neither Softbank nor Dish network are current wireless phone networks here in the US. Bottom line is 1 of those 2 companies are going to buy Sprint and Sprint is bigger than Tmo. So if the DoJ doesn't block the Sprint deal to the eventual winner, I don't see them blocking a Tmo deal with the loser. If either company were to lose out on buying Sprint, they may try to buy the new Tmo/Metro and I'm not sure the DoJ will block it.
