I unlocked with htc that went well but next i need recovery and the newest twrp only has goomanager option wich needs supersu and what im seeing to install supersu you need recovery:thinking: The fastboot recovery in the guide dont work. and for s off you need recovery so can someone direct me to a fast boot recovery??

OK, what exactly did you try?

This is directly from the guide:

1.go to openrecovery-twrp-2.4.1.0-jewel.img to download the file.
2.move the file into the android folder you created earlier when you unlocked your bootloader.
3.on your phone you should be in the bootloader menu screen, select the fastboot option. if you are not in the bootloader menu then power off the phone and then press and hold power+vol down.
4.on your computer press and hold shift while right clicking the android folder.
5.select open command window here option (windows 7)
6.enter command:

Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.4.1.0-jewel.img

Make sure when you type the code into the CMD window, it's exactly as shown above.

ok got that all done now for s off:D

Thats what it was, those pesky drivers.

Pretty much any root related activities that I do now is in Ubuntu. I'm pretty Linux illiterate, save for the few commands we use. :p

Rock that S-off, and remember to do the BabyRacun step for the latest OTA. ;):)

I downgraded to 3.15 firmware. Do I need to flash the tp zip listed with the 3.15 stuff or the one listed with the 3.16 stuff?

well if you are on the latest OTA before you rooted then you should downgrade the tp to the one that came with the 3.15 OTA.

the firmware the captn provides does not have the tp firmware...so you will have to manually downgrade it, by flashing the 3.15 version.

I did the dirty racun downgrade from 3.16 to 3.15 while getting my s-off. My new phone is hboot 2.09.

I dl'd the zip from the phone. Went into twrp and moved the file to root of internal storage. It wouldnt pick up when I rebooted into bootloader.

it needs to be on the sd card and not on the internal storage.
