Help How to get horrible "Chat-On" off my phone?

Hello, this "Chat-On" (orange) application keeps popping up when I accidentally touch my phone (from Rogers Canada) the wrong way. It does not let me back out of it or exit in any normal way- it is their introductory screen with only a single button saying I accept the terms of usage. I think this is really scummy behavior. I don't need this application and at this point I hate it.

Anyway, so far I have been able to get out of it somehow, most often by turning off my phone. But that isn't working any more. I long-press the home button and get rid of all the applications there but it is not listed. It will not let me go to the settings button because it's popup window is stopping it I guess, that is, the setting button on the phone is deactivated right now.

This horrible application is holding me hostage right now. I do NOT want to accept any terms with this thing but it looks like this is the only way I can get past this window? I can't do anything with my phone until I accept the monster.

Please, does anyone know anything about this?

thank you!

ok, duh I rebooted my phone and it got it turned off- I am sorry, I am new to smartphones and did not think of rebooting right away.

But still, I have gone to "settings", "application manager" and then "chat-on" and there is not option to uninstall. Just an option to "force stop" (which I have just done) and to "uninstall updates" (which I have not done)

This application is very scarey! It says it has permissions to my personal information and my text messages! This Chat-on application came with my phone.

Should I also "clear data" on this application? How do I get rid of this application?I have taken the icon of the screen but I would like to remove the whole thing from my phone.

Thanks

That app might be something your carrier put on, which cannot be deleted unless you root the phone.

Thanks

You are in good company - we've all been there.

There are quite a few of these pre-installed apps you may wish, in the fullness of time, to disable. They will still be present afterwards but inactive, so they are prevented from syncing and updating themselves. This removes some demand on the battery and reduce your data costs.

In detail, you disable them by selecting
