Help Where can I buy the 40-pin connector/ribbon?

Hi all,
My Prime has had a finicky connector for a while now. It is now at the point where I cannot power on the tablet or even reset it (the light on the power button shows red). In looking at the 40-pin connector and the USB cable under a magnifying glass, it is clear that there are bent pins on both. I can get a new USB cable easily, of course, but I think I need a new connector as well. In this teardown article, the author mentions that the connector should be easily replaced, as it is connected via a ribbon cable to the motherboard. I tried searching for that part but I cannot seem to find it - not even on eBay. Any suggestions?

Hello dewalist. Sorry you're having an internal part issue with your Asus Prime.

Try here: Asus Laptop Parts - Asus Notebook Replacement Parts/Repair Parts/Spare Parts/Accessories - Laptop Parts Expert Even though the site name says "laptop parts," there are tabs/pads seen on the list down the page: http://www.laptoppartsexpert.com/c-423714-asus-eee-pad-notebook-repair-parts-accessories.html

Another way to go about it is to find out if the cable/ribbon you need has a generic equivalent and may be available at an electronics parts outlet.
