I am currently rooted but want to apply MOAR.zip, when I boot into recovery the file does not show up on my memory card, I even used a blank memory card and still nothing. please advise. thank you

Have you installed a custom recovery such as CWM or TWRP? You can't flash a custom rom with the stock recovery. If you do need to install a custom recovery, I would suggest TWRP and the easiest way to install it is to download Goo Manager from the play store. Also, you will want to make a backup of your current rom before installing a custom rom. That way you can always revert back if something goes wrong.
