Root Just simple questions about 4.2.2 roms.

I'm currently running the newest build of Dirty Unicorns, AMAZING. First full day, everything works so far, BT, wifi, no 4g where I am so I can't help there, no 3d (yet). I was using Angry Bean before that and that was a rock solid ROM as well, but the extra tweaks and features sold me on DU. Not to mention it's running MAC kernel now, which takes to kernel tuner a bit better with speeds and settings sticking. No random reboots ever on either ROM (DU or Angry Bean), and as long as I don't experience any on this ROM, Dirty Unicorns is where i'll be staying :).

I change almost every other day it seems like. I'll be using one and then one of the others releases a new version that's worth trying and I end up switching to it. Also the version can make a difference. I'll be using one and everything is working great and I'll upgrade to the newest version and all of a sudden I'm getting a bunch of problems and then the next release is good again.

The most stable for me has been Angry Bean with Evervolv a close second. However I probably have spent the most time using DU probably only because it has the most features to play with and I love to tinker.

All of the 4.2.2 ROMs have come a long way since they first came out, kudos to all the developers working on these.

PACman all the way. I have no major errors. No force closes. No freezing. It has most built in customization of the 4.2.2 ROMs out there and its AMAZING. :D Ive been using it as my daily for at least a month now. Maybe even longer.

The only thing I dont like about PACman (and this probably goes for all the 4.2.2 ROMS) is it keeps closing Trillian after a while if left alone. This only happens if its not in the task manager accessible by holding the home key. I just leave it in there and It doesnt close anymore.

Yeah PACMan is great. It used to be my daily jellybean rom until the lateer versions. They have problems displaying the menu in Hybrid Properties settings when you wanna change an app DPI.

Im not sure what Trillian is, is that the messaging app Trillian Astra? I never use it.

I've been trying out DirtyUnicorns and I must say that it's nice and has a lot of customization options too. It's AOKP based but it has good bits from CM and ParanoidAndroid too. The latest Unicorns 2.0 has Hybrid Engine built into it too.

I have a quick question.... What is the best Jelly Bean rom that plays emulators well?

I've tried Alien Droid, and an older version of Angry Bean and Dirty Unicorns, but there always seems to be issues with Gameboy Advance emulation and such on Jelly Bean on not on ICS. The screen jitters and is skippy. Thoughts?

I'm S-off running hboot 150.5050 I'm currently using Dirty Unicorns 2.0 since last night but since Sunday I used the MIUI rom that was posted here briefly. Before that It was Dirty Unicorns 1.9 for a few weeks, I also used the PAC-MAN ROM here & there but it seemed quirky like the CM Roms Midnight or Angry Bean etc. I'd personally suggest D.U.

I have My Boy! GBA running on D.U. 2.0. All is fine, haven't encounter jittering or skippiness from the games I have.

I could just be the games your playing.

Yes, Trillian is an Instant messaging app, That works with all of the messengers. AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, Jabber, Facebook, etc..

Sorry for the delay in response. Was at work today. :p

Edit: I use all the game emulators on PACman, And havent had any issues. FPse.. My boy.. John GB emulator.. They all work good. The FPse emulator almost runs better than my old PS1! :D I use an OTG cable.. Portable USB power source.. And a USB controller.. And have a fully portable playstation that charges my phone on the go! xD

The Moga Gaming controller with the universal unlocker app is a great combination to play games and emulators. It's all wireless and I can hook up my phone to the TV with an MHL adapter and play using the controller on the TV.

It seems like Dirty Unicorns 2.0 is decent at emulation, but it still has something I don't like about it, like in landscape mode the option to exit Myboy is almost off of the screen... I'll be trying yesterday's new release of Angry Bean to see if it can handle emulation and be a daily driver for me.
