Is it stable and with working GPS, WiFi, and back camera? If so, I think I have a project this weekend.

Stable yes, wifi works, back works, front works. Just no video, and we have a nasty garbled text issue that's being worked on, it's a bit hard to get rid of but I've found that restarting the app always worked for me. I think it's pretty solid once the text issue is fixed, but definitely not a reason for you to avoid installing it, just minor annoying.

RolaAddict, I'll reflash with regular gaaps today, thank you. I'll see if I can still flash Google Now with regular gaaps cause honestly it's grown on me. Honestly I know deep down I'm only gonna use the feature like once. lol.

As for Bsyds, thanks for your work! I made the transition from CM9 to Paranoid Android. CM9 hasn't been updated in a while which saddens me, but this ROM is faster by far. Kinda tricky with the DPI's and all that though, some apps are stubborn to apply to my favorite DPI. I'm loving the fact this ROM is great starting from the boot animation all the way to the last possible thing. Can't wait for the text thing to be fixed though!

Awesome job, BSydz. I really like the latest version. I haven't had a single problem with apps crashing, reboots - anything like that - since installing the May 6th build. Seems nice and snappy and everything I've tested on it has been perfect.

I did have a few problems on my first install even after doing a full wipe/fresh install, but it looks like those were related to letting Google restore settings when I initially linked my account. I have no idea exactly what Google tries to back up/restore, but once I disabled those options everything was perfect. And those issues obviously had nothing to do with this ROM. I'm just mentioning it in case anyone else runs into something like that.

Just installed the May 6 beta, first new rooted rom on my triumph since the ported Sharp 2.2 version. Very nicely done, and thank you BSydz!!

Only minor issue so far has been the inability to scroll down past the first 100 apps listed in the Amazon app store, will follow up if I find anything else.

I just have to say WOW, after testing the April 19th version I was planning to go back to MTDEV-CM7.
But the May 6th version is LOADS better and I'm going to keep it as my daily driver for a while.

I installed in the following manner:
1. Reboot to recovery (CWM 5.5.0.4)
2. Wipe system, cache, data, dalvik, sd-ext, battery
3. Install ROM (May 6 2013 version)
4. Install Gapps (no symlinks, no GNOW, JUST apps)
5. Reboot and setup apps and Google accounts.
6. Reboot to Recovery
7. Installed the BSydz-PA-Stock-CM9-Mode-Changer.zip (forgot to do at step 5)

It is very stable and usable, including the following tested items, tweak free:
It's been up for nearly 24 hours now without random crash/rebooting.
-Front and rear camera both work. PANORAMA also works: Skype crashes.
-Wi-Fi works: occasional disconnects, but reconnects fine.
-Battery life is decent: I got a day of average use out of it.
-Internal GPS works: installed fasterGPS and GPS Status for assist
Tested it with Google Maps and My Tracks and it is functional.
BUT locking sucks, to the point of being virtually unusable.
I've previously accepted that the Triumph is not a stable GPS device.
-Bluetooth works: External GPS works flawlessly with my paired Qstars 818XT
-Scrolling and selections are fairly smooth and fast, not quite perfect.
-I had GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G all on at the same time STABLE!
-Headphones work: tested with Pandora.
-Text is clear and legible: the garbled text problem seems to be gone.
-Phone works: LOL, had to test it.
-Proximity Sensor works: Auto-brightness works, in call dim works.
-Netflix works: I know people care.
-Swype works: They finally released it to the Appstore, WOOT!
-Virgin Mobile Minutes works: Check this app out, $25 is why we use Triumph.

Negatives?:
- Touch screen is not quite 100% responsive: still way better than last beta.
occasionally have to touch items two or three times to register.
- Default screen fonts are too small: install the Mode_Changer.
- Internal GPS sucks: Higher value to me than video recording.
- No Video Recording: it loads, just doesn't start when you click it.
- Face-Lock did not work: "Face Unlock couldn't start"
- Wi-Fi disconnected a couple times, once with Skype, once with Netflix.
- Skype failing: not sure if system or App related.

For me stability, phone, 3G/Wi-Fi, Camera are good enough for daily use.
touch performance, GPS and Video record would be the only things that could be readily improved to make this a no-brainer ROM. I say give it a go.

Bsydz: THANKS for this ROM, best new work I've seen in a year.

I noted that Verizon released official ICS 4.0.4 for the HTC Thunderbolt ADR6400L
... Is that where a lot of these recent Triumph ROM updates are getting pulled from?

I wouldn't think the GAPPS would make a difference seeing it's in system settings.

The May 6 version is a big improvement. With the previous version the phone had about a 5 second delay when making outgoing calls. Seems to be fixed with this build. The only other thing I notice is that when taking a call, the screen turns off and on repeatedly. Turns on for a second and off for a second, then back on and does not stop. Do I need to tweak a setting somewhere?

Overall very good.

In an attempt to improve system responsiveness, particularly screen touches.
I disabled some of the "auto" features in both the ICS and Swype keyboards.
Then I went into settings|performance:
- turned off Surface Dithering
- turned on 16bit transparency
- turned on memory management|allow purging of assets

Strangely after the reboot, internal GPS locked in seconds, 7/7 sat at <5 meter accuracy!
Cant's wait to see if that sticks... Can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks for that! Mhm.. my last guess is maybe my DPI screwed something up, but I'm honestly not sure what's going on. I mean, It wasn't there from the first boot. I don't know. Probably not too important for me anyways. Thanks!

I'm seeing the same issue as Lobster, Face Unlock is not in the Security options for me either. I'm running the May 6th build as well, flashed twice just to be sure. I am using the symlinked Gapps; though I wouldn't think that it would affect system settings either, it is very possible that it's the cause based on what Bsydz mentioned. When I was testing out ryder's CM9 build I was using a different Gapps and Face Unlock was present.

Since Lobster is already going to give a different Gapps a try, I am going to hold off on testing this myself.

damn I jumped the gun web browsing is real laggy with this rom had to go to the backup

Yes on an initial reboot it might take up to a minute, but once it locks even after turning it off it locks VERY quickly every time. unless you reboot then it needs about a minute or less to lock.
At least thats how it works for me on the april version.

Okay, took it for the team and formatted everything (I hate doing backups, I just don't know why..)
I can confirm its one of the zips messing it up. Because regular Gapps+latest build does show the face unlock feature.
It's either M7_online which is Google Now, or Symlinked Gapps.


Point is, To anyone who wants the face unlock feature, ONLY flash regular Gapps+Latest build in the OP

I don't think it stems from Google Now, I used M7 with CM9 and Face Unlock was present, switched to lennyv4 and it was still there.

I've only used the symlinked Gapps with PA (and only used the regular with CM9); I don't think I've ever seen Face Unlock in my PA security settings. I assumed it was the Rom, but that's ruled out now of course.

I'm using the symlinked gapps, with lennyv4 on the 2013 may 06 build and the face unlock is there and working just fine for me, you just have to select a lot of menus to get there system settings>security>lock screen>screen lock>face unlock

Had to tweak light levels to get the auto brightness working as before since flashing the may 6th build. Other than that, very smooth.

Are you using symlinked GAPPS ver 2? Maybe there's a difference between the two versions?

I'm not running any other kernels or anything. I did a full wipe, installed the May 6 build, GNow, sym-gapps v2, and that's it. We've ruled out the Rom and GNow (since calitrippin and I are both running lennyv4), so my next thought is you might have a different symlinked GAPPS flashed.

It's not there. I swear I'm not crazy:

I see you have it in CM9 mode.Could that be the issue?And I use the 20120422 GAPPS.

My gapps version is 04-29-13
I don't know if I have an outdate/updated version, haven't checked. It's the Gapps for sure, with GNow+regular Gapps, I do get the face unlock. But with Symlinked I do not. I think it has to do with Gapps, I'm so sure it's actually scary. GNow is not the problem.
Guess we gotta put a warning label on the Symlinked gapps for now, saying that it will break the Face Unlock feature.
Also it's not tablet mode/phone mode, tried both. DPI isn't the issue either, tried that also.

I'm not using symlinked version 2 but I'm not using any them or mod on top of the PA rom

I just flashed BSydz CM9 mode and I still have face unlock but now it won't start before it would work with saving my face.

Mine won't start either, I only tested one boot though, then I went back into recovery and reflashed it to my liking.
I hope it gets fixed though, having features you don't need is always a good thing.
