why they're not many posts. I came to see what was said about this phone. If anyone reads this, how is the call quality and the 4g speed? I found one real cheap and thinking of buying it.
It's been a good phone. No call problems, GPS works great (unlike my Droid 3's), 4g is awesome. I like having ICS as well, and it's close to stock.

There is ZERO activity as far as hacking. I was able to root, but forget about getting a custom recovery or a ROM.

Great for a budget backup phone. The touchscreen is kind of poor as response, but it is super cheap used, shortly after it came out last summer, I got one used for $48 and another for $80. This phone is beyond cheap used on ebay.

The only real lacking specs are a flash for the camera.

The GPS is amazing as was previously noted. My GS3 had a broken GPS, this phone has an amazing one, locks to within 9-30 ft in a few seconds.

As others have indicated, forget about rooting this phone at least after the recent Verizon OTA update:

Verizon Announces First Software Update For Pantech Marauder (Version S910LVWD211F.D1)

ICS Root Unlocker 1.0 used to work before the update.

That said, the phone is a nice phone for the budget price. Yeah, Pantech went cheap on the camera by going without a flash. It features a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon process, 1.24 RAM, and 4GB Internal storage. The internal storage is a little limiting, but it's sufficient for most of the important apps that one may need to run. The touchscreen at times can be slow to respond. All in all, it's a very nice phone for the price.

The official specs say 1.2GHz, but SetCPU and other overclocking apps say this phone runs at 1.5GHz. The thing is snappy and responsive. The camera is mediocre. The hacking scene is rather disappointing. I want to get CWM on it, but fastboot is being a bitch and I don't know of any tool akin to Odin for Pantech phones.

As for rooting after the recent OTA update, I'm looking into it. I've grabbed the update files from my phone (after it downloaded them, before applying) and it's being distributed as a .bin file. The BIN file is actually a ZIP, and in the comment it says "signed by SignApk". I've uploaded it here for all the good it'll do.
