Hey all, I spent some time figuring out how to do these custom splash screens and have gotten fairly competent. You know, to replace that annoyingly bright white HTC logo. Credit to our own Raul720 for providing the inverted HTC screen, and thus, the idea to make more of my own. Credit to Hippie459MN over at xda for making the process simple by creating the tool I used to make my own screens. Link to that thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929404

The process is pretty simple if you have an image you'd like done. I'm opening the floor for splash requests. I'm normally pretty busy between work and the fiance, but I'll get to these when I can. Just post it on here and I'll see what I can do. Vertical images will work better so I don't have to crop the hell out of them, but I can do that too if necessary :)

Before installing, note:
I am not a developer nor do I pretend to know how this stuff works. If you bork your phone, you'll have to find help elsewhere. I have used guides available from here and xda to create these splash screens. As far as I know, the files I am posting are optimized for the Evo V 4G on Virgin Mobile. They may work on Sprint's 3D, they may not. Every splash screen change that I have done results in a boot loop. This is fixed by booting into recovery, wiping cache, and rebooting. No nandroid restore necessary. The splash change will still work and everything will be as it should. HOWEVER in order to get past the bootloader you can't have PG86IMG.ZIP still on your SD card. Some users have said simply removing the card works, but some Recoveries won't launch without a card present. I recommend having an SD card reader handy, and remove the file via computer before attempting recovery, or simply using a spare SD card and swapping after the flash.

To install:
1. MAKE A NANDROID JUST IN CASE. I haven't actually needed to do a restore but you should always backup before tweaking stuff.
2. Copy PG86IMG.ZIP to the root of your SD card (not in a folder). DO NOT UNZIP.
3. Boot into the bootloader by holding VolumeDown+Power. It will detect the file and ask if you wish to flash.
4. Push VolumeUp to confirm flash.
5. Push Power to reboot and enjoy your new splash screen.
6. If a boot loop occurs (likely), remove the battery and SD Card. Remove PG86IMG.ZIP from SD card or replace with spare. Replace SD card and battery. Boot to recovery. Wipe cache. Reboot to Android. Win.

Inverted HTC
Thanks to Raul720.

Silhouette Beach
Probably my favorite. Cropped from my desktop PC wallpaper.

Kojima Logo
Also known as a Foxhound logo from the Metal Gear Solid series.

Take the Big screen with you
The beautiful Kelley Hazell. After seeing a nearly identical splash for the Evo 4G, I determined it was not high enough quality and made this one up from scratch. Did my best to match the HTC fonts (although "Big" looks kinda funky... oh well :dontknow:), and found the girl using tineye and the original image.

Headphones Girl
No clue who it is. Have seen on several different forums, this particular image coming from a Windows 8 forum. Pic also seen on 4EXT recovery custom backgrounds.

B&W Girl - Back
Elena Santarelli. Cropped from an old PC wallpaper.

Android over black

Android over bricks
Cropped from PC wallpaper.

Master Sword
Legend of Zelda. Cropped from PC wallpaper.

Guitar
Simply rotated 90 degrees from PC wallpaper.

Sorry about that , hopefully this one works!

Couldn't get the one you sent me done. Too complicated of a pattern for my simple editing software. I did a much simpler one based on the same image and added to OP. Haven't tested for quality so be honest if it sucks and I'll update it. Also if you can find or make the image you posted into a 540X960 or even roughly 16:9 vertical format, I can make the ZIP for you. Maybe you have Photoshop or something better than what I'm using. I can basically crop and add colors/text if needed.

Iphone 5 is the latest apple phone and it is dual core 1.2 and 1gb of Ram.

Sound familiar?. Our phone has same specs and its almost 3 years old. Lol

My evo is dual core 1.7 not 1.2. I have the option of at least a dozen of roms. Or, better, I can open up the source and mod as I wish. But I think iphone is a good driving force for improving android further. Let the kids play with it.

The phone comes stock as 1.2. Yours is 1.7 because you overclocked it. So actually it is the same. If it didn't come stock at 1.7 then it isn't actually 1.7 and that's not what it will show on any website that has specs for it. :)

do you have the stock evo v 4g splash screen? i'm thinking about selling my phone and want to have it just in case so i can return everything to stock.

Just use the RUU. It brings you back to stock. Completely. Except you will still remain s-off

^^ That. But as requested, Stock HTC, as provided by Rydah805 at xda, has been added to OP. Also added the inverted version as posted by Raul720.
