Root Phone data or texting doesn't work after flashing to stock and trying to reactivate

I recently sold my phone to some kid on Craigslist and 2 days later, he angrily texted me back saying that the phone doesn't work and that it's blocked...

That's crazy, I thought, I didn't block it at all. I flashed the RUU and flashed the stock ROM on it. He activated it and he said he still can't get texts or connect to the internet.

When he tried to access the data settings thru the phone by doing ##73727# (or something like that) he says it makes him input a password and if he gets it wrong, it reboots.

The phone was working fine before I deactivated it.

Is he just mad because the phone was in bad condition and he regrets his choice... or what? It should work.

Hmm not to sound like a dbag but like many used cars, there is no warranty. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. I bought a used phone on craigslist before and turns out the ESN wasn't clean. I cut my losses and moved on. If it was working fine when you sold it to him then who knows what he's done in the two days since you sold it to him.

I was thinking this, but I'm certain he hasn't even tried fixing it

I see you're on T-Mobile. Is this kid having SIM card issues? He may need to just take it in and have it manually activated by a provider/carrier floor monkey.

lol let him call the cops. they wont do anything. all they will say to him is its his fault for taking the chance of buying a used phone on craigslist and theres nothing they can do.

I actually went through this with an xbox 360. Guy said it didnt work, And it was brand new. Maybe used 10 times. Still had the original box. Guy called the cops and said I sold him a dead unit. Cops said there was nothing they could do. (They believed that the xbox was fine since there wasnt a scratch on it. they assumed he fried it.)
