You need to open a web browser, log in to your gmail account from there, head to the web based version of Play, then install it from there for some reason.

Announced at Google I/O yesterday. It's Google's attempt at unifying the messaging experience. Everyone thought it was going to be called Babel.

Update.... if you get the update notification saying it wants to update and replace Talk, DO NOT DO IT!! It causes double notifications and stuff. It's buggy. You will need to uninstall Talk 1st then DL Hangouts. Looks like it tries to keep some of the Talk files and run on top of them which won't work.

Or don't update altogether, hangouts is terrible.
How are you finding it?
Well, the option to add a pic or photo is nice. I can't get it to execute (send) while in landscape mode though. That bothers me because I keep my phone in landscape mode the majority of the time I'm using it to chat.
I think they should have done a good bit more testing before releasing it.
Honestly, I'm probably going to install Talk again.
