Yes, I sometimes have the messed up fonts. It's a known issue. Apparently the current version isn't as bad as the previous version: Are you running the current version?

It took many days for the fonts to start messing up for me, and since then it seems like it happens more and more over time: I wonder if it is a cumulative issue, like something that gets worse as your memory space goes down, or something like that.

dsmryder, that was the culprit that was causing the cracking noise while listening to music when screen goes off so here are the results:

All were fine except for interactive X, scary and powersave which caused me to do a battery pull. After reboot, phone became sluggish until governor was changed. I'm now using smoothass ass as governor and cfq as scheduler.

I've been away a minute, just trying to catch up.
I have been running the Apr 17 version and cannot find where to enable soft keys. Is this not in the 4/17 version? Anyway, here's a few observations on my experience with this.

First of all, I LOVE the new default interface. Sure, the icons & text are smaller but I don't mind at all. I do have some touchscreen issues but I've not gotten around to flashing the updated screen drivers. I'll probably be switching to the May 6 update when I have enough ambition to backup everything, install, restore apps, etc.

I have read a lot of complaints about GPS taking forever to lock in. I've used Maps and Navigation several times on this ROM and had no problems at all. Even driving down the Interstate at 70mph the GPS locks on within a minute or two. Perhaps of note is the fact that I've always had good luck with the GPS on my Triumph since Day 1. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who got a phone with a "good" GPS receiver.

I am running the "regular" (non-symlinked) 20120429 ICS Gapps. I have absolutely no use for GNow, so can anyone tell me what - if any - benefits I would gain from using the symlinked Gapps vs. the non-symlinked?

Finally, on my current ROM (4/17 build) the battery life is absolutely ATROCIOUS. Battery drain is as expected in standby mode, but when I am using data - be it 3G or Wi-Fi - the battery drains about twice as fast as when I was running MTDEV CM7. My battery is a 1400mAh Rayovac replacement from Batteries Plus and is only about 3 months old, so it should be in pretty good shape. Checking my Facebook & Twitter feeds and sending some text messages can easily drain my battery 30%-40% during a half hour lunch break. Can anyone tell me how the battery life is on the May 6 build?

Overall thoughts: I don't do much video recording so that's really a non-issue for me. Aside from the battery life and the occasional wonky touchscreen response, I am very, very pleased with this ROM. Everything else seems to work fairly well. As always, thanks for keeping the MT alive.
The benefit of the symlinked Gapps, is as the OS gets bigger we are stuck with the same size partition where the OS goes. Gapps are installed to /system so if we use that space for the ROM then the Gapps will not install correctly. When you flash the Gapps package there is no warning that you ran out of space, it just finishes like everything is fine. When I started JB I realized that I could barely get the OS to fit on the partition, so there was no way to get the Gapps to fit as well. Then after some testing, I realized we had the same issue with ICS, but we had a lil more space to work with. After hearing a bunch of complaints about this Gapp or that Gapp not working, I tracked it back to the zip installing but skipping random files depending on how much space and where the script was when it ran out of space.

So, essentially, the symlinked Gapps is installed to our data partition, and symlinks are put where the files should go, that point to where the file is put. This allows for GNow to be installed and also ensures that we get all the Gapps files, because the system space does not affect the install now.

I think the battery drain may be from the power profile I am using from the Xperia Play, it has the same SOC as us, so I figured we could use it. I am not positive that this is the cause but, I am leaning in that direction.
Hey there! Just wanted to say this rom is AMAZING! I have the may 6 version installed and its super smooth and more responsive than the April version. It's perfect as my daily. It's great that you guys were able to get both cameras working even if its just for taking pictures! A great accomplishment! :) if I may ask though, can anyone help me on how to get the auto-brightness to work? I have it set for auto but the screen doesn't light up that bright in the sun. Is something wrong with the default values? Thanks in advance! :)
I may have tweaked the settings in our frameworks overlay that control auto brightness, I will loook in to this.
Hey, everything seems to be working good, just one thing though. When im in a phone call my screen keeps flashing on and off, Does anyone else have this problem?
I was messing with the proximity sensor driver and am pretty sure that is causing the flashing, it has only happened a few times for me. The solution before was to leave the sensor on at all times and I figured it would be better to revert it back to only come on when in a phone call, but maybe my other tweaks were unnecessary. I'll look in to it.
When pressing the wifi button in the status bar, it takes longer than usual to toggle off wifi. I also got the roaming issue once this afternoon.
I have been working on the wifi alot and changed some values to try to stabilize the system. If you have ever run CM9 before you would be very familiar with random rebooots and SOD(sleep of death), a bunch of these issues were related to wifi, and a few more still persist. But, with the May6 build I have only seen the phone reboot once and I was bouncing between games and it had been running for like a week with out a reboot, so I can't really call it. It may have been a random reboot or it could've been the ton of stuff I had running in the background and foreground.

Have you had any roaming issues after that?
would be nice if we could have a ROM that we can make into a stable release on the triumph.

besides camera issues,

one of my problems I am having is trying to change my governor settings. it's stuck on interactive. However I want to switch it to smoothass.

whenever I do try to change the governor settings, I lose the functionality to change my min/max clock speeds.

also, would it be possible to bring up the RTN menu within the ROM?

I know I can gain access via stock rom by entering on the dial pad: ##RTN#

Hope this helps, good luck on cracking the Triumph
I have not had any issues with the govs or anything related to the cpu settings, so I really can't say for sure what your issue may be. May need a few questions answered like ..

What are you using to change the settings?
Have you tried No-Frills CPU control?
And which ROM version are you using?

I have no issues with the built in performance settings or no-frills.

I never used the RTN menu, so if you could give me a lil info on what it does, I may be able to point you in the right direction. Or it may be built in to the original phone app like activation, and will not be available in any custom ROMs.
So.. did anyone watch Google I/O? :)
Yeah I watched it, it was cool but a lil scary at times. All this data mining is getting to be just a bit too much for my taste.

I am still looking in to it, my first two hunches didn't pan out, it is a lil harder to track down than I first thought. I am gonna have to start from scratch and add things one at a time to figure out what is going on. But, do the math, I changed hundreds of things and it takes anywhere from 10 minutes(rebuild with out cleaning, which sometimes carries over things from the previous build) to 45 minutes or so to build fresh.
I didn't notice anything like that. However, when trying to listen to music through the phone, the volume was so low that I could hardly hear anything in a quiet room. None of the volume sliders seem to adjust this at all...
I haven't had any issues with volume, my phone gets pretty loud. I can hear it anywhere in my room with fans on. I just use the volume buttons when listening to music. I also realize this is just a phone and not a stereo, so I have a set of computer speakers ready for when I want to listen to loud music from my phone.

Some silly tips for making your phone louder are creating an enclosure of sorts. Like those huge fast food cups or just a corner, like if your desk is in a corner set the phone in the corner to reflect the sound out to you. I even took a spay bottle cap(lysol, spraypaint or something similar) and drop the phone inside.
Is there any way to make the status bar bigger when it is set in tablet
What are you trying to achieve here? When you say bigger, what exactly do you mean? Taller, wider, text? I could change the size in the build but it is not an option, nor would I be able to set it as an option.
Which touch screen kernel do you guys recommend?
There is no huge difference in the kernels, we had been using a stripped down driver that, I think Whyzor wrote, but I used an updated factory driver from our sister phones. While the driver does wonders for gingerbread and under, ICS implemented new requirements, and things have to be changed to work with it. Touch 3 is the bare minimum changes that I could do to get it working, I have not quite cracked it completely, as I still had to use a hack to get multitouch working. The bare min with out the hack needs two fingers to be in contact for any touch to work. So the hack is needed for now to make it work. There is an option in CM9 to use legacy touch but if I use that then it could create issues with other kernels or other things. I figured it best to make the driver compatible with the OS instead. So, any one of them will work and there are probably only differences that a diagnostic tool would be able to see, so don't worry too much about which one, they are not radically different. I just wasn't sure how it would affect the million different places we use the touch drivers.

I am on the May 6 ROM, with Touch3 kernel.

I frequently have an issue with the notification bar. This seems to happen more frequently with the greater number of notifications I have. When I pull down to see the notification information in detail, it is just a blank screen with my carrier at the bottom.

It can take 45 seconds or even much longer to come back and display the detail information.

Frequently, an incoming text message will be the information I want to see. And if I give up and go into Messaging, I cannot send a response back to the message until the hung-up notification state problem resolves itself.

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but wanted to send in the report.

I'm still loving the ROM in most other ways. Though I do experience a great deal of lag at times when gaming. Also, battery life for me seems poor.

But again, to end on a positive note, I was about to throw away my phone before and now I am really happy with where I am at. Thanks for all the great work!

I've been gone for a short while... been away in an intoxicated frenzy celebrating another successful year of not-dying. Hooray!

Before I left I flashed touch 2... I really can't tell a difference between 2 and 3, but as Bsydz said it's minor differences anyways.

I can tell you that touch 2 (and the Rom, fpr that matter) works decently even when you're (very) intoxicated and uncoordinated, HA! :)

I'm having the same notification drop down problems.... For some reason I get best performance and huge improvement of battery life with ondemand governor..

I downloaded this today. I was using MIUI 2.4 on my triumph. That worked great but several bugs that I couldn't get used to. I flashed it fine. It loaded fine. But the Paranoid settings things kept stopping and wouldn't let me proceed to anything. Any clue why? This was the Green android guy that you have to click on. It just wouldn't go passed it. It would let me go to the status bar and settings but nothing else.

did you make sure you did a clean install

Factory reset, clear cache, clear dalvik cache, then install rom and gapps

Edit: Ok, the facebook app fixed itself somehow, i found the face lock. but Google Now still can't find

Edit: Also, i can't seem to find this anywhere but can anybody point me in the direction of themes for paranoid android?

ok, i am new to the different roms out there, but I have tested 4 different ones. 2 Froyocream sandwich and Red Remix, Miui 2.4, and now this one. So far, i hated Froyo to begin with. You are soooo limited to the things you can do to your "rooted" phone it kind of takes away from having the root. I really like the Miui. It is very customizable, very user friendly but with every up there is a low. It is very buggy with a lot of crashes to phone apps and even system apps. Now onto PA. I really like how slim and beautiful the interface is. The small font doesn't affect me one bit. As for the flaws I see so far, maybe someone can actually help me if its something i'm doing wrong. The camera in video recording setting is all green and blurry. I haven't actually gotten to taking a video and seeing if its that way on the computer but I'm not sure I like that too much. The major issue is that the touch screen doesn't seem as responsive as MIUI. I'll have to almost long press an item sometimes to actually press it. Also, the GPS. I'm not sure if I seen a post saying they fixed this issue or not, but I use weatherbug and it seems to restart everytime the phone sleeps for more then 30 seconds. Now maybe some people can give me a small walkthrough as to everything I should know about ICS. I would really like to customize this also to my liking. As to colors, status bar icons, etc...If someone can point me into that direction that would be great

I am on the May 6 ROM, with Touch3 kernel.

I traveled about 8 hours today with Navigation on. It crashed about 12 times during the trip. GPS Lock is working fine for me - I do have GPS Status installed also as a helper. Navigation crashes were somewhat annoying, but I could restart it from Maps if I waited about 15 seconds for it to figure out where I was trying to go to begin with.

Games are crashing also every so often. Don't know if one of the other apps I have installed is messing with stuff. May reinstall the whole kit and kaboodle soon and slowly add stuff as I need it.

Regards,
M.
