Hello All,

Are there any tricks to increase the Mobile Signal range in weak areas, one like my apartment???

I am on JB 4.1.2 NeatROM Lite v4.7 on my GTI9100 S2 and my current Modem is: I9100XXMS2. I did not care much about the role of Modems but understand this one usually for Nordic Countries (Europe??).

MAY BE there is a better modem said for Saudi Arabia (or Middle East) which I can flash and try over the current one....please I heavily appreciate if someone can guide and give some links.. (tired googling)

Any precautions before flashing another Modem?

Flashing a different modem can help. It won't, however, make a very weak signal better.

Please read the Modems - Dummies Guide carefully and thoroughly and follow the step-by-step instructions for beginners.

Currently, there are no JB Saudi Arabian modems, these are prefixed with JP, for the SGSII. However, you could try flashing a GB or ICS, JP modem if you can locate one, not the RIL, and see if that helps. One of the links, here, even contains instructions on how to extract a modem from stock firmware and create a flashable .zip file.

I am afraid, as the guide points out, that there is no one modem that is best for all locations and carriers and that it is a process of trial and error.

You can try flashing XXLS6. This is what I`m using currently & I`m located in Kuwait right now. No big issues with this one.
XXMS2 had failed me continuously by dropping the signal in stand-by or during the conversations.

Precautions and guide.....please follow ironass recommendations.

Hello, Thanks.

I have a a copy of MODEM_I9100XXLS6.tar file (within the XXLSJ leaked JB bundle). Is it OK to flash it using Odin selecting the 'PHONE' option in it, or do I have to dig for a flashable zip for I9100XXLS6 ?

If you got a link to download it, please share with me.

Can I flash MODEM_I9100XXLS6.tar using odin as I asked below? Or where do I dig for the .zip??

, the word "here" contains a link to Hawker`s post about modems. That`s the place were you learn "How to.." and you`ll find also different modems for download. That`s the place you wanna go to for starting playing with modems (CWM flashable).
Best of luck.
