Note-taking app

I travel with a friend who keeps a diary of the trip, with photos, on her phone. For the notes, she emails events to herself, then at the end of the trip puts them all together in a trip diary.

It would seem that a note-taking app would be simpler, but I have no experience with them. Any suggestions for an app that would make her trip log easier?

OneNote (especially if she has access to it on her PC) or EverNote should be ideal for what she is doing.

Colornote is another good one. She would have to send the note to an email to attach a picture or video though.

Can anyone recommend an app that will do this, allow different notebooks and multiple input methods (i.e. handwriting, keyboard)

I recommend google keep.

You can take four kinds of notes: note, checklist, photo and voice

They can all be color coded by category (7 colors).

Then she can edit it all into a diary on a computer if that is easier for her since everything is almost instantly sync'd online

Thanks - I must be missing something somewhere though. My favorite is Springpad but have also looked at Evernote and cannot find the opportunity to input handwritten notes. Can someone help me with this?

I'm getting on pretty well with the mazec2 handwriting recognition app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.metamoji.mazecen on a Nexus 7.
I spent a long time considering the Galaxy Note tablets vs an N7 purely to take handwritten notes for automatic conversion into text. In the end I couldn't justify the extra money for the Galaxy Note 8.0 against the N7.
The app installs as a keyboard so is available system wide. Works well with Google Keep which I use for personal notes, and with Lecture Notes that I use for work notes.
