Just wondering if anyone has experience with buying a new line and canceling, paying the ETF. In all my calculations, it always comes out atleast 100 cheaper to do this, is there a fee i am missing? do you still have to pay the first month?

Has anyone ever done this? with any carrier im looking at all of them

Depending on the carrier you pay for the the days you were on contract and then they charge you 375 ETF.

well, there is the subsidized phone price, 199 then the ETF of 325 so that adds up to 524, no activation fee, and if i cancel the day of, on lets say an 80$ plan then that would prorate to, 3 $ a day? so even a couple days after and it will still only be about 530, so thats 120 less then full phone price, how is it not worth it?

Because you won't be billed the UNsubsidized price if you cancel. You'll be charged the full price of the phone

Not true at all. Check with your carrier. I upgraded to the S3 canceled the new line and paid the ETF and 80-90 for my billed usage.

this is what i thought happened, doesnt make sense that if you allready paid for the phone once, albeit subsidized that they are going to turn around and charge you full price ontop, i did however notice that if going through any other site, such as amazon wireless, they make you pay back an adtional 200 because i guess verizon pays them 400 for signing you up, so they make you pay half back to them because they lose that amount if you cancel in any form within 180 days. but as far as direct through carriers i have not seen anything thats saying you would pay any other fees other then termination fee and prorated usage...
