Hmm, I just tried it and it worked. However, somehow my mac address when I copied it from my router settings page and pasted it into the Samsung form, was missing the last 4 characters. It complained that the mac address and serial number were wrong, but after I double checked the mac address and input the missing characters, it worked.

Thanks for the reminder btw, I had completely forgotten about this until I read your post. Hope you are able to get it registered.

Also make sure you're registering at Samsung.com/Perks

The address is on one of the inserts you rec'd in the box.
I didn't get the email with the $25 Google Play. I contacted Samsung & they said the Note 8 had a high volume of registrations and a lot of people didn't get the Google freebie.

He also asked if I'd gone to the perks address instead of the usual registration page. I don't know how much of a difference the "registration" page made.

so im trying to register my new note, so I can get my free $25 google play card, but for some reason, I enter my serial number and mac address number, like it is requesting, typing it just as its printed on the box, and every time I hit submit, it tells me that they are both invalid numbers! wtf?! any ideas?
Thanks

I'm getting the same thing. Wth

You can always call Samsung (1-800-Samsung) (800-726-7864) and register that way.

They can help with that too. I'm speaking from experience.

I already called them and all they did was pass it on and act like they haven't heard of it and a call back in a few

If you search Google, this issue was first reported to samsung on April 13. It's almost been 1 month and no fix.

This makes me sad. It's almost like a bait & switch =(

i when i try to register, it tells me both serial # and mac address are invalid. also, it asks for model GT-N5100ZWBXAR ... i can not see the model code in the sticker outside of the box. from the device -> about phone, i only see model number = gt-n5100

so what am i missing here?? i can't seem to register

The serial # is on the back of the tablet and should start with S/N.

I noticed you mentioned you have a GT-N5100. That sounds like the international version, not the wifi only version. The "free gift" is a US promotion, so I don't know if it applies to the international version, which would make sense that you aren't able to register.

Only reason I know you can't register an international version on the Samsung US site is because I wasn't able to register my International Note 2.

i did not know the free gift only applies to US model and NOT all samsung note 8. that is not fair because a samsung device is a samsung device in my mind.

that explains samsung site keeps telling me invalid serial# and mac address

i wonder if i can get the $25 google credit somehow

I understand what you're saying, but you're talking to the wrong person. You need to ask Samsung about that. I'm just telling you what I've seen with past Samsung devices. You can call the customer support line and see if they can somehow help you out.

There were many people that got a Note 2, outside the US, that also were trying to get the 50% off accessories coupon, but couldn't get it due to their having an international version. Luckily, for me, I had purchased a Sprint version also, so it wasn't a problem.

Same, did it many times. Use the chat option. MAC address no : too! Still waiting for verification. Another thing I don't like. Bought Note 8, was thinking about Nexus 7 (2), but after reading decided to keep mine, but did check Tradein Value at Best Buy where I bought it 15 days earlier, $100. rip off. Waiting for Android 4.2.2 to come to it. it is on the Tab 3 ".
