Going On My 3rd Replacement Maxx

It took THAT many? It didn't take but 2 Bionics to get moved to the MAXX. Guess what? That 3rd replacement came yesterday and I went to set it up today and it's DOA. Talked to someone on the chat and they won't do anything but I'm going to call and talk very persuasively so that I get the Maxx HD. I'll keep you guys posted!

Yeah. It took that many lol. BUT it may have had something to do with I the fact that my original maxx was also given toe in replacement of my galaxy nexus, which I didn't have ANY replacements, they offered me the maxx the very first time I called. Just keep calling and you will get there. Don't be rude or ask for a replacement though, they have to offer it to you.

The last time I called I finally told the lady to do a Google search for razr maxx vibration comes and goes because they kept telling me it isn't a known issue, but when she saw the thousands of results for my same problem she talked to her super and came back and told me she got a Maxx hd for me

I started with the Bionic. I didn't ask in a rude way or persistent way to get swapped to a different phone. I just asked if it was possible to do it because I didn't want to keep going thru phones. I was told yesterday that the manufacturers are backing their products now and will only EVER replace a phone with the same phone. I told them that was unacceptable. Yesterday I called 2 times and at first on the second phone call I thought I might have a winner. But I didn't. Anyways, I don't believe that not asking for the replacement is the way to go honestly. But you have given me the idea on using the google search thing. I have an issue where randomly my phone won't make any sound when it rings for whatever reason and the sound is all the way up. It takes a power cycle to get it to come back. I've had it happen on every single Maxx.

Well I caved in. I was polite but persistent that the only solution was to put me onto the Razr Maxx HD. I talked to a tier 2 tech person who was trying her best to be very helpful but missed the point that my moving from the Bionic to the M to the Maxx was not 2 alternate replacements. The M to the Maxx happened within a day of each other as I stated before. Anyways I talked to a supervisor and he told me that there was no way no how that I would ever get moved to the Maxx HD because I had already been moved from the Bionic to the Maxx. It's not like I'm leaving Motorola!

And in the past I called Motorola and all they wanted to do was to take my phone in for repair and leave me phoneless for weeks. I basically told them that there was no way that would ever happen and that they were useless and I would never call to ask them for anything again. With all of that being said....I caved at least for the moment. I tried to claim the same problem you were having with yours and was told that oh people are always going to complain about the bad things online no matter what.

While I feel that is somewhat true, I also feel that the internet is a place to get out to the world what's wrong with these 600 dollar phones that we are asked to pay 200-300 dollars for. They are baffled by my DOA Maxx. I told the guy I was just going to keep calling until I got the right answer. Which for me is to get the phone you have. I have 5 lines and my bills are paid relatively on time considering there are 3 people that I myself am one of are paying it. There is no way that they CAN'T do the switch. If it was done once it can be done again, it's just that they don't want to do it. I'll give it until Wednesday and call back again.

I'm not following why some folks think they are entitled to an upgrade if the get a bad phone (or a series of bad phones). All Verizon is required to do is replace your phone for you, they aren't required to give you a better one. Sure, it's a cool thing that sometimes happens (to other people... :) ) and if they offered me an upgrade for a defective phone I'd jump on the offer, but it's not an obligation for them of any sort.

I for one have never had a "perfect" problem free electronic device! I've had tons of different phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, etc, and every single one of them have always had some sort of a minor malfunctions here and there! I've just come to expect it and find ways to work around them myself!

after 3 replacement devices you can request a device of equal or lessor value to replace your maxx, I know the Samsung galaxy nexus is of lessor value. but to get a new device? yeah I do not see that happening anytime soon.
you would need to be within 2-3 months of your upgrade date and they may grant you that and move you up to something but you would still have to pay for the device, you would not get one for free unless it was a replacement of equal or lessor value.

Originally bought the nexus, got the maxx for free, then got the maxx hd for free all within the same contract, they never replaced my nexus before giving me the maxx.

It honestly depends on who you talk to, and that's it.

Apparently even when I called asking about lemon laws because of 6 phones with the SAME issue it still wasn't enough. Just gotta keep calling.

So, I have been thru 3 Maxx's. I refuse to have them give me another Maxx and that's the only option they will give me. I won't take another one, and honestly I asked to talk to retention as a method to get a reaction and I got nothing other than please don't leave us but we aren't going to change your phone. I talked to the Boss of the Tech 2 support's Boss and while he understood and wanted to help he was hesitant because he didn't want me to just keep getting in and out of phones. I assure all of you and I tried to assure this guy at Verizon on the phone. I just want a reliable phone. To me the Maxx isn't it anymore. Give me the Maxx HD and I'll shut up until January when I can upgrade for real. Not really any other phone out there that I would move to other than the DNA but I don't see that happening from the Maxx.
