Looking into the DNA. Is the SIM Card error still happening?

The SIM Card error I have read about it is a real deal breaker for me when it comes to this phone. The hardware is beautiful and with Sense 5 on the horizon, the software is top notch. However, my GNex currently also has a problem with the SIM card that requires me to pull the battery, pop out the SIM card, pop it back in, and reset the phone. It happens many times daily and I am really looking forward to getting rid of this issue. However, if the DNA is still suffering from it, then it looks like I might need to continue my search elsewhere.

I've had my phone for almost a month, its never happened. Before I turned it on the first time, I pulled the sim card out, blew on it and stuck it back in. I love this phone. The radio's are fantastic. Only place I lose signal is in certain elevators. Only thing I would say is at times its running slower than when I first got it, but that's still 99% faster than my old Samsung fascinate. However I literally never clear the running apps, which might be why lol.

I was getting the sim error a lot. Then they sent me a replacement phone and sim card a week and a half ago. Since then I hardly ever get a signal, and I still get the preparing sim message all the time along with dropped calls all the time. I will get 1 bar, with no 3g, or 4g. I was on the phone with tech support for over an hour last night, they said they had to open a ticket. They think the problem is not with the device but the tower or something or another. The only thing that angers me is, that my wife has had a DNA just as long as I have and has never had one problem. So I cannot see how it is not the device. The tech rep said I will have to deal with the signal problem and calling issue until the trouble ticket comes back with an answer, and they will credit me for the time that it takes to fix it.

I'm thinking of picking up the DNA used for $320-ish, but I am not willing to deal with this SIM problem. Are odds against getting a used phone that doesn't have this issue? Might explain why there are so many listed on Swappa....

I want a current, high end Android phone that has strong cell radios and a great camera. What the heck are my choices? Samsung Galaxy S4 is out - radios are just not good enough, and Razr Maxx HD has a sub-par camera.

DNA is an awesome phone. I admit I've had the SIM error multiple times in my usage. I've gone through 3 replacement SIM cards that a friend of mine who works for a Verizon premium retailer gave to me. After the OTA update, no SIM card errors yet.

I get the sim card error constantly. I don't think I've gotten an update in the past few days though as I've been out of town. will see if there is one available for me right now. Oddly enough, I have the nexus wireless charger ball thingy. I seem to get the error a lot after placing it on this charger. I typically only use that at work but took it with me when I went out of town. got it a lot then. don't seem to get it so much when I use my vehicle charger or plug it in the usb on my computer. maybe just a coincidence.

My last update was 4/20/13. I have none available at the moment.
