The Big List of Home Launchers - June 8, 2013

The creator of Zeam just released a new launcher called SickSky. Appears to be 4.1+ only. Also updated Zeam and put a note that says "this app is no longer in development"
Thanks for the info. Zeam was good, but its day has come and gone. Strangely, the "4.1 and up" SickSky is flagged as incompatible in Google Play with my 4.2.2 Nexus 7.

That is strange. Worked on my wifes HTC One V 4.1.2 but not on my Kyocera Rise 4.0.4. That's why i assumed jellybean only. Youre right, Zeam is outdated. I was just hoping it would get a full makeover to be more inline with 4.0+ before it was put to rest.

I didn't see yet into the lists a launcher that i like, baidu launcher (there are 2 of them, the better is the newest updated, may 23th).Much better than doremi (they have the same developer).Light but it gives the possibility to create folders of apps.

I like best:91launcher,360 launcher, launcher 8 (for windows style),adw.I have gingerbread phones for the moment.

There is also bazooka launcher (trebuchet style),but i don't like it.

update
You really did a great job these years,an amazing list always updated.

I only want to add for baidu launcher that it is much better the other one, link is the same without the last 2 letters (launcher instead of launcherin). It is the only one they update last months. No matter of chinese market homepage, the launcher is entirely in english language.

I advice to use only this one (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baidu.launcher).

Yesterday i remembered i had used home [+] developer ateam,a good home but a bit heavy,i think it is better to try it with at least dual-core phones.Another little problem could be that it is not entirely traduced in english (developer is japanese i think).

It seems to me that there isn't already present in the lists.

It seems to me the lists also not include the new 360 launcher iphone style,i only see the older (beautiful and very improved one). Now they made also this one.

I add also that i see some launchers with the word "transparent" they have all the same developer. One of them is transparent iphone launcher.Developer forU naveen.I don't consider them real launchers, they are fake home apps that only change the phone's home appearance. In any case i mention them scur can evaluate if the can be considered launchers or not.

So which one is best?

There are several that may be the best in different categories, and you'll get different answers from different people. So really the most you can ask for are for some opinions.

Some of the ones I hear the most about in terms of people calling them "the best" lately are Go Launcher, Apex Launcher, Nova Launcher, Next Launcher, 91 Launcher, SSLauncher, and Action Launcher, and plenty of folks are happy with their stock launchers since the variety of great widgets out can personalize them quite well.

Here I use them because of the launcher options...

SSLauncher = no grid

Apex Launcher = overlapping widgets

I really like the Vire Launcher widgets too. They change with the tilt of your phone to look like they are reflecting.

1)EcoHome (hdak developer,i don't like it at all).

2)Hi launcher (not the one already found, now there are two with the same name, for this one the developer is hi dev studio). This is an iphone style launcher,i think (for iphone look) 360 ilauncher or espier launcher are much better and should be preferred.

One that I didn't see on the list and one I've never seen. Launcherli and Vire Play.

I've been following Vire devs for a bit, but I need to check out where they're at now. Instead of multiple themes for a single launcher, they're planning multiple launchers with their own minor theming options. I really like Vire for the widgets, the reflection effects are rather cool. I'm surprised there aren't more like them floating around the Play Store.

Aviate Launcher (Alpha testing - invite only).

There's been 1.8 million dollars invested in this new launcher, with some pretty high end people working on it. I'm definitely looking forward to getting ahold of this launcher to test it out.

Aviate - An Intelligent Home Screen for Your Android Phone

I noticed this one a few weeks ago, haven't updated the list yet, may as well today.

Ir seemed to me kind of a Google Now type of launcher. It may appeal to some folks, but I prefer to theme my home screen and I'm thinking they're spending all their time working on function. I'm really hoping it will work though, I like when unique launchers live up to their hype. It's kinda rare.

Myself, I can't get away from SSLauncher. It's one of the hardest launchers to learn the ins and outs of, but combined with UCCW, Desktop VisualizeR, Zooper, and custom icons, pretty much the only limitation to how it looks and behaves is my imagination.
