I assume many other users have already seen this as well, but it appears that Google has once again updated the tablet GMail app, which by the way I was very comfortable with. Now I see all these multiple colored boxes next to each message. They appear to indicate alphabetical names and priority. In addition I had to hunt to find my label list (which was always visible to the left side of the display) to look at other labels (family, friends, etc). I did not find an option to opt out or to keep the previous appearance.
In addition it seems you now have to go to the preferences selector (3 vertical dots) on the top right of a message to delete the message. The "trash can" option in the menu icons has disappeared.
I suspect there are more surprises I haven't yet discovered.
Awhile back, with another update, I was also surprised to find that embedded images from senders will no longer appear in the body of the message and only show as attachments. (In the body they appear as the box outline with a small colored square). Is this what everyone else sees?
Maybe it's time for some feedback on the app. Maybe someone other than the federal government will be watching and listening!!!
