Help Samsung keyboard customization?

I've been using the Samsung keyboard over swype lately cuz I like the layout better but hate that I can't figure out how to add and remove words.

when the suggestions come up, long press on them and click delete.

Believe me. I thought the same thing as well. There are some words, however, that are embedded into the program that can't be deleted. When I was using Swype on my Photon, you had to actually highlight the word in the typing area, prior to long pressing and deleting. After someone on here (sorry, can't remember the person that explained it to me a few months ago) mentioned that you have to long press on the suggestion, it's become a force of habit for me anytime I see a word suggested that's either a typo or a word that I rarely (if ever) use.

That said, as far as it remembering words, it's similar to swype where after you've typed a word and hit the space bare to move onto a new word (or the auto space moves onto a new word), that word will be saved into the dictionary. What I do is, when I have a typo, I'll go back to edit the word and when the typo shows up on the suggestions, I delete before replacing with the actual word I was trying to say. It's a pain in the butt sometimes, but keeps me sain and continue using the oem keyboard. I still feel that swiftkey has the best prediction out of all the keyboards, but the only reason I haven't moved over is due to the S-Pen recognition and the one-handed mode on the OEM keyboard.

One thing i really dislike about this keyboard is replacing a word that's completely wrong. . It doesn't just highlight and delete like in swype. Oh and accidentally hitting the delete button when writing a word staying with an m

Hahaha...yes, you're definitely not in that boat alone. I do the same, but I've gotten used to it already.

I even tried going back to swiftkey, which was such an awesome experience, but I can't get over how helpful the one-handed keyboard is...especially when I'm on the go. I do wish switching back and forth from full keyboard to one-handed went smoother than it really does. Whenever I pinch close or pinch open to do it, I don't think I've ever consistently gotten it to change.

ive never used swiftkey. i used swype for the longest but there were a few bugs that bothered me on the note2 so i got away from it. ive noticed on the samsung keyboard if you dont go over the exact letters for a word it usually doesnt recognize it. Swype can recognize if you mess up and usually knows what you meant to type, even if you dont know how to actually spell the word.

have you used the google keyboard yet? i downloaded it but saw that it records everything you type, just like when you download swype aftermarket. do all keyboards do that?
