Help My phone is having issues

I just responded to someone's thread asking if they should get an Optimus G (I had a lot of bad things to say about this phone) and then I decided maybe there are fixes for my problems...so here goes (I have a Sprint Optimus G 4.1.2, LS970ZVB, I believe everything is up to date):

It takes forever to send texts. After I hit send it's added to the conversation but takes forever to say sent. When the phone was new this process was much faster.

It seems like every couple days I have to reset my phone to start receiving text msgs, after it boots back I receive a grip of texts.

It is often searching for gps signal, even though my maps works. I have everything enabled but it says my location service is off and doesn't give me any google cards, although every once in a while one will pop up and say how far I am from work or home etc. (I understand that problem is fairly common on other phones as well??)

Performance is unpredictable...sometimes it's fast and sometimes it's a dog. I have not installed very many apps (10) and I have plenty of available space (>17 gigs). I clear app cache sometimes but it doesn't really seem to help as much as rebooting my phone does. But like I said, it'll go from back and forth from fast to slow and I'm not sure why...

I'm open to doing anything with the phone that'll fix these issues... whether it be running a different rom or whatever, but at this point my phone is completely stock. Well I appreciate any and all help that you guys can give me. Thanks

Lee, I hesitated to reply to your message because I knew I wouldn't have much of substance to offer you. I certainly empathize as I've had phones in the past that never seemed to work correctly and your avenues of correction are limited and filled with inconvenience and likely fraught with disappointment. That being said, I think your phone is defective. I've read of others with texting issues, but based on the other symtoms you describe I feel yours has a hardware issue that won't fixed via software changes. Unless you live in a fringe service area, you shouldn't have intermittent transmission events. You didn't mention how the call performance was, but texting is a phone system event rather than data. Erratic GPS performance fits right in too if you have a bad antennae or radio. Your previous experience with LG repair hasn't been encouraging since they didn't fix the screen problem you reported, so confidence in other repairs will likely be lean. Wish there was someone I could refer you to that would go to bat for you with the manufacturer to get it replaced. It's too bad that something like this will sour you on LG products, but you could hardly be blamed. I've owned several LG phones and have been very satisfied. My Optimus G is a great phone and I've missed all the commonly reported problems. But then, I know phones in general are built quickly in a large production run then abandoned technologially only a few months later. If a factory reset followed by manual updating and no installed apps to create interference doesn't at least give you regular service with consistent phone, text and GPS performance, then you've likely done all you can at your level. Good luck and I hoping for the best. - Mark

Thanks for your response... I was afraid hardware might be the issue... But yeah, last time I dealt with lg for my screen issue I ended up being without this phone for roughly 6 weeks (minus a day or two in the middle where I got my phone back, only to realize the issue hadn't been fixed at all, which issue that had already charged me 60 dollars for...) so I don't really care to deal with them again... I don't really know what I'll do, although I do appreciate your response.. Thanks again
