Ive never done this and i was wondering what is the purpose of it on the S4?

will my battery last longer?

if i decide to go back to the way it used to be ...could i?

could i dmg my phone?

ive never done any mods to any of my android phones but i just came from a i5 to a s4 and the ammount of stuff on it that i dont want is amazing

the phone also dosnt feel as smooth as my i5..feels like i have some lag when i open apps and the camera! to my understanding this is a more powerfull phone and should be able to perform better

i love the screen too btw and the fact that i put a 64gb card for 50$...giving me as much space as i need for tons of music!

i hate all the samsung and verizon crap...i wish it could be like my friend who has a stock android phone from the google store without all this crap!

sorry if i sound ignorant is my first time and im trying to get the best out it

Yes you can get better battery life with the right roms.

Most of the roms remove the bloat, clean rom is really nice and smooth.

You can damage the phone but just read/read and read some more. Also dont be afraid to ask questions, even the experienced ask questions.

Check out this video it is by far the best video on how to root and well explained.

And just my 2 cents when you do root install clockwork mod recovery. Seems to be more stable than the other one (the video will explain those).
