Help mobile not recognised by any pc device

Hi guys!
I have a Galaxy S2 updated to the 4.1.2 version, kies is installed on both my computers ( 1 pc and 1 mac ) but wherever I try connect my mobile lately is not recognised, neither by kies air. The problem is so bad that my pc is not even recognising the usb cable being insert in the pc. I wish i could backup all the data and format the mobile, but i just can't backup, nor add music or anything. Could you please give me some help?

Hello and welcome to Android Forums frankieferret! :)

"It's not unusual", to quote the Tom Jones song.

See the link in, "#1.3. Problem connecting to Kies", of the Jelly Bean update - Dummies Guide, as it contains advanced steps by Hawker to get a connection.

Tip: I know it may sound silly but before trying those steps... try plugging your USB cable into different ports on your computer. It sometimes works! ;)

If you still fail to get a connection then you could try Airdroid or MobileGo to do your transfers and backups, both are better the Kies
