Guinea pig needed asap

Darren - you are a star!

Now works perfectly. And on my Hero pressing the search button only brings up the app's search box, which then works fine.

I am not too worried about the changing display colour but the ability to save several favourites, with a flash screen when opened asking which one (if any) to go to, would be good.

I am on the train every day next week so it will get some hammering.

just uploaded version 2.7 with full favorites functionality!

Darren .... another problem I am afraid.

Works fine if you don't have any favourites. However if you have any favourites the box that should pop up when you start up to ask you to decide whether to choose a favourite or not (or presumably now choose between which favourite you want) is now hidden. All I can see when I start up is a blank screen with TrainTime UK at the top, and nothing then happens.

I know the pop up box is still there in the background because if I hit back I can see it for a brief moment before the app switches off. And if I fiddle around with the scroll wheel and press it eventually it settles on something that works, and up comes the screen for the favourite I have "chosen".

I have had to delete all my favourites, in which case the pop up does not come up and I get straight into the select a company screen.

Just installed - looks good.
Will there be options in the future for removing the advertising?

I always played with the idea of having an ad free paid version.... is that what you mean?

At the end of the day, The ads make pennies. and I really mean pennies at the mo, my main thing is it would be nice to make back the $25 I had to pay to put the App in the App store, and maybe a little for my troubles, as developing this does take a lot of my free time, and I never really aimed for it to become so popular. It was originally designed for my misses, as her trains were always late!.

Yep - I always think that the banners kind of spoil the feel of an app and reduce its appeal. However I fully appreciate that you want / need some payback for all your effort and costs - perhaps ads are the easiest way to achieve this (and I suppose a free app leads to less expectation and potential grief from users).

That said, I'd pay for it to get an ad free version - it certainly seems mature and useful enough to warrant a small fee.

thanks for all your work!

Is there a way to list the journey planner results so it's not so spaced out. Any individual journey doesn't quite fit on the Hero screen as there's a big gap between the time and date and then the arriving at line. It would be more user friendly if you could get a list that was more compact. Also, ideally, an earlier or later button ! We don't ask for much ...

Thanks again.

Are you using WiFi or 3G/ have you got the latest version?

I know there was a problem with wifi & Spacing, which I thought I fixed,
Earlier/Later buttons are coming at the weekend, as well as more journey planner options.

Thanks for your support.

sorry but it is me again. One thing I think you need to fix. Sometimes I click on a station (either choosing from list or as favourite) and it does not connect either because the data link is too week or there is a oroblem at the other end. The app then freezes all the time that it is trying to connect and there is no way I can stop it and try again later.

What is really needed is when I get the notice box saying "connecting" I should be able cancel that by hitting back button at any time (like most other apps). The only way i can do it at present is by hitting home, but the app continues trying to connect in the background and there is no way i can stop it.

Having an issue with the app - keeps forgetting favourites.

I select a few stations, saving to favourites as I go and all appears fine (they show up in the favourites menu). However every time I go back to the application, the favourites is empty (reports no favourites found)

Also (which may be related), the 'will only display after an upgrade' pop up seems to display almost every time I open the app whether or not I've done an upgrade (but confusingly not every time).

Any ideas?

(HTC Hero, paid app)

Have you got the latest version? (V33)
Do you have favourites as your start up screen?

It could be an old part of the app, which I designed to pick up users on old versions (pre a favourites re-design) and upgrade their favourites, which is causing you problems, hopefully there should not be any users with the old version any more, so I will remove that code in the next release, which will hopefully solve your problem.

Thanks for your support,
Darren
