Do you think Verizon will ever go back to unlimited data?

I had Verizon last Fall and had the share plan with only 2gb of data. Not only was this not enough data but in my opinion it was crazy expensive.

Just a question: do you think Verizon would ever consider going back to unlimited data? Why or why not?

I'm sure they will at some time to try and lure some new customers in and then do as they did before and take it away

Doubt it. One reason they got rid of it was because to many people using data were congesting the bandwidth. Granted I believe they were talking 3g at the time though. Soon lte will be congested and they'll come up with something that costs more with less data. I'm waiting to see what VOLTE is going to be charged against.

Verizon or AT&T will never go back to unlimited data.
It would be a bad business move if they did, and they are not stupid.
Sure it angers their long standing customers to have to either pay full price for a new phone or go to shared data plans, but these 2 companies have us over a barrell and we have no choice. We can choose when our contracts are up to go to Sprint or Tmobile, but in reality, for the majority of us, these two smaller companies can not meet our data and coverage needs by a longshot.
Soooooo.... bottom line is they will never go back because they can make far more money with shared data plans, and we basically have little to no choice if we want reliable coverage and data speeds.

That's why I'm hoping that T-Mobile and Sprint win a nice chunk of the 600MHz spectrum in auction next summer. That would be such a nice frequency to start deploying to help with coverage due to their normal high frequencies (1900MHz)

I read an article recently that hinted at Verizon bringing back unlimited data to add some competition with the smaller carriers. The unlimited data would come at a premium price tag of course. There was also hints that AT&T was thinking along the same lines.

If I can find the article again I will post it.

Not the article I was looking for, it actually says the opposite from what I stated. http://business.time.com/2012/08/23/unlimited-data-plans-are-they-coming-back-from-the-dead/

Once they tear my unlimited plan from my cold dead hands (contract doesn't end until 07/2014), I will make the switch. TMo has same coverage out here in Phoenix.

And that would be the reason for Verizon changing back to unlimited. A great majority here in the valley has left Verizon for TMo because they have same (if not better) 4G coverage out here
