Hello, I'm AJ and I have a question. I still have my HTC EVO 4G, since 2010. I want to make it look like the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Is there a ROM that you guys are aware of? Or simply... How can I be able to get the newest software that the EVO LTE has v4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich)?

-Thank you.

Hey AJ and welcome to the forum. There are a number of both ICS and JB roms available to flash, but one thing you didn't mention was if your EVO is rooted. We need this info so we can give you the best directions possible.

well unfortunately there has not been a sense 4.0 for the evo 4g and you will never see it. if you are rooted the closest thing you will find is the pure android code for ics(ice cream sandwich) or jb(jelly bean). these are what we call aosp. sense based roms the closest thing we have is sense 3.0 from the evo 3d. we also have sense 3.5 as well.

but none of those do not have sense 4.0 like the evo 4g lte. and you will probably never see it for the evo 4g as i do not thing the hardware can handle it.

both ics and jb pushes the og pretty far to the limit as far as what it can handle and that is without sense. sense is a pretty big skin that htc adds on top of the android os.

plus the evo 4g lte has jelly bean now. when it first came out it was ics.

and lastly like it has been said you need to be rooted though to change the software version to something like ics or jb.

hope that helps and let us know if you need help rooting your phone, if it is not already.

it has been a long time since i've used to 4g. I just dusted it off and would like to use as a media device for a sick friend of mine. what is the latest rom to flash closest to ics or jb that is stable
thanks

go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/618281-list-utilities-apps-roms-kernels-og-evo.html and find the staff picks for some suggestions.....i think strike would be the best one to try. also there is the ubersonic which is an ics rom that has all of the phone features turned off so you will not have to worry about battery life when the phone is trying to obtain a signal......it is very unique and i suggest you try it.

let us know which way you go and how you like it.

Thanks I think I am running thundershock 3.03. It is working well but phone seems to be trying to connect even though I turned off all the radios other than wifi so I guess it is a battery drain.

That ubersonic sounds interesting but did not see in the above rom links. Do u know link to it? Thanks

as an aside I've been away from the evo for two years. It's amazing how it all runs great and can be tweeked the latest technology really runs well

happy 4th
