Root [Boost Mobile] Let's Start A Team ROM!?

No the text isn't in strings.xml, the image is in drawable-nodpi in framework-res.apk I know that, and the text is actually in com/android/internal/app/PlatLogoActivity.smali

Nice correction, I knew the image was in framework-res.apk somewhere as I remember seeinf it by accident from theming. As for the .xml I was pretty sure thats where it was but then again I haven't had this phone for 6 months.

I always thought it was in xml format but I never found anything during my theming or modding or anything, so I did a quick search and it turned out to be a simple line in smali

I am being so~~~ of topic today. But I think it was this thread that I learned about GV phone in. Tried it... omg it didn't work well at all. Four second lag on voice. I dunno though, LOTS of good reviews. My network stats right now:

Edit: I know it's not the best internet service in the world but it should be more than enough for VOIP, don't you think?

Actually I've been testing out GV Phone since it was mentioned on this thread... And I found my at home "HI-Speed" isp(5 Mb/s) didn't handle it too well and the 3g(2 Mb/s) was handling it very well... then I started noticing the pattern and remembered the bug anmire mentioned with the Wi-Fi... I think it might have something to do with it...

WIFI seems to be working fine, as for MM:( Not working, sorry!

Is it working fine? My speed tests on 3.1 have always been okay. Actually on any alliance build. At home or public Wi-Fi, I've tested 15 mb/s symmetrical at a hospital here.

But smartmanvartan had said maybe that was the bug that was affecting the GV phone voip app. Anyway has anyone tried that on his test build?

On other notes I tried gv phone a few other times and the voice lag was never as bad as the first time. Hovers around one second which is what I had with groove ip on ctmod. Wish I had 3g to test it on that.

Here is my idea for this Rom btw. When you get to the point of deciding about default apps and stuff I say do this. Make one bare bones build and one with default apps. For me I'd rather have a nice, fast stable base and install the apps I want. Make another build with default apps for people who just want to flash and go. The bare bones build should just have a file browser(root of course), maybe a web browser like boat or one without a lot of bloat. And gapps stuff. That's it.

Anyway when I was making my own Rom that's what I was gonna do... and might still when my new pc gets here. I think it's a good idea. To me alliance is about bringing together the skills of all the great warp devs and making the fastest, most stable Rom possible. It's not just another different looking or slightly faster Rom or one with different apps.. Every dev has his or her own tweaks and way of doing stuff and we are brinGing all that together. The default apps just aren't the point.

The Alliance makes the base, then you take it and make it your own.

That's my opinion.

I'll get back to theming this and hopefully by next week SystemUI and framework will be themed, I'm just gonna have to use less traditional methods...

Someone should create an ultimate theming guide ._.

Sounds like a great chapter for Oven Rack! :D

Then I guess I know what I'll be doing in my free time! :D

Free time? You have some of that?!

Seriously, though, I think after the success that is Alliance, all of us devs and themers and such should get together and try to flesh out Oven Rack.

It's sure a big project, and the more skilled hands are involved, the faster it'll get done! And I'd be happy to have you aboard! :)

Its summer vacation for me, if I'm not working at my job then I'm at home in bed modding things here and there on my laptop  or shopping :)
Maybe a testing section? Like what kinds of things to look in a rom before releasing, like benchmarks, bugs, kinks, theming, UI, etc..?
