The recovery has basically a port of COT 2.1 with the following not working:
Code: 
ADB on the Optimus Q doesn't work
Mount SD card doesn't work on the optimus q
How to install(with installer zip):
1. put the .zip on your sdcard
2. reboot into recovery
3. chose install zip and point it to the twrp zip
4. once it finished, you should be set, just leave recovery and boot back into it

I have the optimus slider and the only problem I had with this recovery was #1 I couldn't simply restore anything, md5 check always failed.
#2 The 'Fix Permissions' made my system unbootable.

edit: fixed the restore problem. the files were apparently getting corrupt transferring them to my pc for whatever reason.

fix permissions still leaves me unbootable when I use it for some reason.
