I've noticed that my phone will not take videos, and in picture mode I often get an error telling me that gallery has stopped working and my phone occasionally reboots after I get a text with the default test messaging app.

My Hero S is running the 4-15-13 nightly with the wifi fix.

I'm just curious about the future development of this ROM, are there any updates or bug fixes in the near future?

Are there any major updates for this ROM coming soon?

M phone still reboots when I send/recieve text messages, and the video mode for the camera still does not work.
This ROM is by far my favorite ROM to use on my Hero S, but the bugs happen to often for me to use as a "daily driver" for very long.

As of now, I am using a different ROM, but I am looking forward to more updates for this ROM in the near future so I can re-install it again.

I'm still trying to get things in life sorted out. What I really want to do is build a solid recovery for this phone because none I've used so far have been very reliable. It makes development a little bit more frustrating.

What hasn't worked in my TWRP 2.5? Just curious because I've flashed / backup / restore on it over 20 times with 0 issues, no one has reported any issues to me either and I know people use it daily.

I didn't even realize you had released a TWRP build! Thanks for letting me know, I was going to work on TWRP myself and that saves me a lot of trouble. I'm going to flash it when I get the chance :)

Also, you're welcome to use the Evervolv source in the development of your port. If it isn't already, I'll be happy to help with a TWRP build from source.

EDIT: Very nice. It seems to work great.

Not quite dead. The nightlies were probably taken down because my device overlay needs updating before the nightly zips will build automatically (or maybe even boot). I need to talk to Drew and get some work done.

EDIT: They updated the site and upgraded the server. I'm getting set up on the new stuff. Next up is to update the kernel; we got an expert on kernels to help maintainers with other HTC phones, now it's the Design's turn.

When to come out?
I can't really give even an estimate because I'm on vacation with my family and a thousand miles from my home at the moment and anything could come up (not to mention getting ready for classes to start again), but I really hope to get this done as soon as I can.

I am glad to hear that this isnt dead yet
Me too. I often feel like giving up when I think about this project in general, but the more I use my own phone, the more I want to fix the annoying issues :p I do enjoy working on it though, and I'm happy to contribute the things I discover.

Here's a little preview for something I've been working on. I know it's crazy late, but better late than never, right?

Evervolv Scio 4.0.0p1 (AOSP 4.4.2 Kitkat)

Screenshots | Kernel Source | Device Tree

Bluetooth and camera don't work yet. The former is probably something trivial and the latter will take time as Evervolv is in the process of implementing ION for msm7x30 devices and we don't have the source code for a camera HAL.

Why not look into Andromadus's camera hal's they use ion. and are generally more tailored to htc devices.

Unfortunately, their camera HAL is for the MSM8960 platform and we need the source for MSM7x30. Even they use a prebuilt HAL for their MSM7x30 devices.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like they're using a wrapper for msm7x30. I'll look into it.

I downloaded and gave this a try last night. Booted fine, but touch screen wouldn't respond. I wiped data and re-flashed a couple times just to make sure there was no problem installing, same issue.

That's strange. Did you flash anything besides the ROM itself? Which carrier is your phone? It might be some newer model with a different touch interface.

Also, can you give the output of logcat?

My first attempt I also flashed gapps. After boot the screen was black except for the notification bar. Other two tries I booted without flashing gapps, just the rom.

I have a FreedomPop phone, appears to have been reclaimed from Boost in its former life.

Here's a link to my logcat: https://www.dropbox.com/s/de3nwfc3jg6wjlp/logcat3.txt
You can see a couple of times that I tried to wake the phone at the end of the file.

We've got a kernel now that, according to Evervolv's 7x30 guy, should support Wimax, but I haven't even begun to work on it. I wouldn't even be able to test it because I don't have Sprint service anymore nor do I live anywhere near a Wimax market. You're welcome to take a look at what we've got on Github if you want to.

Nothing jumps out at me immediately from looking over this logcat. Can you capture one while it's booting? On Linux you'd reboot the phone and do something like this before the boot animation:
Code:
$ adb logcat > ~/logcat

How is GPS on this KK build? I would have tried it as soon as I saw it, but I am a cab driver and every now and then I really need GPS. The only reason I switched back to something a little more stock was because I could never get GPS working quickly, or accurately enough to be of much help. I'll find out for myself when I've got a day off.
I don't use this phone every day so I can't say anything about normal usage, but I can tell you that, for me, it found me pretty quickly and with about 50ft of accuracy when I opened Maps and the compass seemed to work just as well as any other phone.
