Root Optimus Elite root with an apk

First thanks for this great app

One thing I notice is when I do a fresh installation and start the app, it start downloading updates for Qt libraries.

Is there is way I can download those library files and install them manually (may be copy those using ADB or copied to a SD card and install from their) without having to use WiFi connection.

Thanks

Long story short, no. But once you've rooted the phone and installed cwm and then installed a ROM you won't have to use the rooting app or QT anymore.

I intentionally didn't release a command line version as it could be turned into malware fairly easily.

First thanks for this great work

What I am trying to do is create a self contain sdcard (or copied from ADB) and do all the steps to install a custom ROM without need for any internet connection

This will help to flash large number of phones quickly

I tried this poot on galaxy mini 2 S6500D.

First time attempt to tap "press here to poot", my phone was blank and reboot immediately.
I check su file not pushed in /system/xbin.

Reboot my phone manually, and open poot again...
This time poot show debug text, instead of suddenly reboot my phone.

It say :

2012 giantpune
[+] opened device
[+] Set logging mode
[+] Resolved symbols
[+] Mapped 0x10000000
[+] Hooked 0xc02fcf6c
[-] Error running kernel-mode code
[-] Failed to clean up our mess
[-] Current && current != last + 1: 0000ffff 0000ffff
[-] Haxx has run its coarse. Reboot the device to play again

A demon materialized while pooting. Error code: 87
su binary was not written
You need to restart your device

Second attempt without reboot, produce error 22.

Did it had any chance to root my phone?
I know It was used for Cherry W100, but aleast it nearly identical to Mini 2. Thats why I test poot.

I also have a Galaxy Mini 2 S6500D. And I had these issues with the error. What I tried: I removed the SIM-Card, so I could boot as quick as possible. Then I rebooted the phone, and as soon as I could see the Poot icon (there was a lock screen inbetween, i had to unlock quickly), I started it and tapped on the "press here to poot" (or so). Then It worked.

BTW.Maybe you already rooted your device without knowing it. Try installing "Superuser" to check.

I do hate to revive an older thread but I couldn't search down the info in the past few hours....
Do I need to factory reset before poot or can I do this on the fly without loosing information?
Also I can't find a backup on playstore that sound like a full systems backup, do I need just an app backup and move files to external SD to avoid loss,
I am a noon and surely this has been asked before so please forgive, and thanks for the assistance / advice

No problem.

Once you root I do recommended installing cwm recovery before you do anything else. Then from recovery do a Backup which will backup everything.

Then just in case something goes wrong you have a backup to fall back on.

Thee easiest way to do this is to use giantpunes noob installer. You can find it in link below.

First of all, Hi! Everyone. Thank you giantpune! I shall name my first born after you. I am a development student and I came across a really funky happenstance. Maybe you can help me understand.

I have twins, both lg-ls 696. Now, Fuzzy is my curious one and Baby always has to rescue him.
I "pooted" Fuzzy last week. (Worked like a dream!).
I was experimenting with a few different platforms and tweaking compatibility issues. (I always have an SD that is just recovery files.)

Fuzzy bricked. Not surprising, Fuzzy has been through a lot. It is a droid v1.6. Now, with other rooting apk, I need to do a foll-on factory reset if Fuzzy bricks. With "Poot", not even this wanted to work (it has happened).

This is where Baby comes in. Baby is all original. Phone, contacts, text, e-mail. (She's even a facebook virgin). I loaded a mirror image copy of Baby onto Fuzzy. Everything was working fine. Fuzzy remained rooted for a little over 18 hrs. The, it crashed, reset and is no longer rooted.

I am a dev. student and I would like to understand how this came to be. Between Baby and giantpune, we gave Fuzzy a second coming.

Thank you. That was cool

I tried the poot root but after hours of searching forums I seem to still be at a loss, when I try to run poot it does all the library crap then before it does anything else it says "this application has hit a fatal error and can not continue" or something very similar, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

First I downloaded poot from the link, then ministro ii from google play. That didn't work so I thought maybe I should download superuser and SUsuper. Again that didn't work. I'm trying to root my enlighten. Any help would be appreciated.
