Hello everyone!! I was wondering if someone has successfully put a Galaxy note 2 to work with Boost mobile.... I have done some research and came across a tutorial, it didn't mention I needed a donor phone, but I soon found out I do. I have a galaxy prevail (I don't know if can use that). my biggest problem is that for the life of me I CANNOT READ NV ITEM 1192!!!! and that's exactly where IM STUCK!! any help will be greatly appreciated.
Ps. I anyone can get me through the whole process I will buy him(her) a coke or whatever other drink his(her) little heart desires (LOL) (im for real (up to $20) :D
HELP PLEASE!!!!

Galaxy Note II Flash to Boost, Virgin Mobile, Ting, etc. - xda-developers

just need to follow this. I used an old incognito as the donor and was able to read the AAA key in DFS. the drivers for it only worked on a 32-bit version of windows then after you flash turn off diag mode and if it says the network is Samsung and wont activate you need to flash the LJC radio fix in cwm/twrp and it should work after that for 3G. Also LTE must be disabled. I never did figure out how to read the NV_1192 from my warp.

ah... pulling nv items from a prevail, always a good time

dsf wont help that i know of, prevails are locked down to where you cant pull it remotely

luckily i found the rare info needed a while back

youll need android terminal emulator or working knowledge of adb, a windows pc with magiciso, and your prevail must be rooted woth an sd card inserted

go to terminal emulator on the phone or connect to an adb shell prompt then type the following
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/st15 of=/sdcard/cdma.rfs

the file will act sort of like a zip in magiciso, it contains all your nv items.

browse to NVM then NUM and there they will be
465, 466, 1192, and 1194
the 465_1 and 466_1 shoildnt be necessary

you will then have to edit things accordingly in either qxdm nv browser or make a custom cdma ws file set for flashing because they wont be properly formatted but all the info will be there

and the way i see it on the dishonesty thing, its only dishonest if you use a nom android.donor. then you would be paying the basic.plan price for an android device but if you use an android plan with the wrong android device i see no difference, you bought their crappy phone, you are paying the same amount you would if you actually had a boost version per month, and you legally own the second phone ut all good in my eyes. you pay for the service they shouldnt be able to tell you how to use it, thatd be like charmin bustin in your house kuz you use toilet paper to blow your.nose, tellin you to use a kleenex or youre going to prison

side note, dont make or recieve any calls on the prevail, itll trip the security and disable the flashed.device. once you trip it you gotta activate a different phone then switch back nd ota. ota should work on the.note tho. once you finish take the.battery out of the.prevail and put it in a box somewhere never to be touched again unless absolutely necessary

ok so i had some free time. took a while but i think i have a script to do all of this for you. if it cant pull or extract it should still convert to the right.format at least from pure binary if you put the files extracted with magiciso into a folder named NUM

http://unleashedprepaids.com/upload/devs/junkie2100/prevailnvpuller.zip

let me know.how it goes

note that its partially untested. i did alot of testing on the conversion from binary to a properly formatted txt but the pulling function and the num folder were added later and never got tested so

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK as always

chances are it couldnt hurt a fly but if it were to i wont be held responsible

update
i have tested it further, extraction doesnt work i dont have the proper tool for that. if anyone can find a tool that will allow extraction via batch file that is great, but for now youll have to extract it yourself, the tool can pull the rfs file, and then its fully able to convert the 4 files if they are put in a folder named NUM along side the script. sorry i tried to make it all in one

It is legal if the following conditions are met:

1) You legally own the Note being flashed and the donor device.
2) Both devices have clean MEIDs (meaning the service provider has not cancelled service to the phone for any other reason than customer request).
3) You will transfer the sticker from one device to the other to ensure that the Note has the correct MEID. A heat gun or hair dryer will make this easy.
4) You will not sell your donor phone.

Doing anything other than the four criteria above is illegal and any discussion about it will be removed.

Really????

So your tricking the carrier by using a "donor phone" and it isn't dishonest?
Unlocking a cell phone without the carriers permission IS illegal so this definitely isn't right.

legality doesnt necessarily imply honesty. how does it effect service? youre paying for the service why should they care what device you use. and the legal issue would come from the carrier your flashing from anyhow, not what youre flashing to because the unlocked device is not from boost

im just stating my opinion, i dont think a carrier should be able to tell me how to use things i payed for and own, ic you think its dishonest thats one you but.if i payed for a phone and i wanna use it on a different carrier i dont see a problem with it, who is gonna benefit if i dont? who is gonna lose out if i dont? im not buying another one just for the specific carrier, im not switching carriers, if i cant do it ill just stick with what i got so nobody loses and nobody gains except me it has no effect on any one or any thing else

Question? Why do you even care? They do all this dishonest shit to us with getting the phones in the first place and charging us for stuff that makes entirely no sense and think we should pay for it... and limit our data service after giving them all this money every month, dont come on here talking about dishonest cuz everyone of these contract stores are dishonest and rip offs for these new phones... buisness is buisness
