Group Texting Question

Ok my sister and I have an argument going about group or bulk texting.

She sent a text message today to me and a few of her friends. I was driving to I didn't pay much attention and text to speech replied back to her. As soon as I did I realized it was a bulk or group text because my reply went to everyone. Which I got flac for...but it started a "disscussion" with her and I.

She told me it was my fault since my phone has group texting. To her I replied and said...No you made the text with the multiple recipients there for you made it a group text. Not my fault my phone was the only one that could she it. So she tells me I send these all the time and I don't have this happen. To which I tell her I normally notice it is a group text and just reply back to you in your individual text on my phone. So she tells me it is my fault and I need to turn off group texting. lol

Now I have a Android smartphone and she has an LG "dumbphone". I have a feeling this is one of those no one is wrong or right discussions but I would like to hear your opinions anyway. Thanks in advance.

To me it is like a bulk email. They just don't have the reply to all button like me. lol

Well you bring up some good points. I use Handcent as my main SMS/MMS app. I do send out MMS, which I'm not even sure if that's considered group conversations. Any ways, when I send out the same text to multiple people, they can reply back to me, but nobody else see their reply. I believe there are settings you can change to have everyone to see your reply. (I haven't tried it though.) Even though I send Group SMS as one text, I have it split to each individual conversation after its sent.

Hello there, I have a question and I believe it must be an opposite of what you guys are talking about but I will really like to get some advice and input from you guys. I am a promoter and I sometimes send out mass text to people on my contact list. I used Contacts GroupU to breakdown my contacts in set of 10 recipient per group, e,g group A will have 10 contacts, group B 10 contacts and so on. My question and what I would like to see is that whenever I send out text to each group, I want each person in each group to receive the message individual without having to see other recipients numbers in their group but this is not what has been happening. People keep telling they can see every other recipient numbers. Please what do I need to do, what setting must I have to be able to send out mass text to people in my group and to each person individually and without others seeing other's numbers. I just want each person to receive the text individually and not seeing other people number. My texts at times do consist of MMS and I am not sure if this has anything to do with it, also is this consider group or bulk texts and what difference does this make? I like to send group or mass text as one text and would each recipient to receive it individually. do I need to turn any thing off in the settings or enable something. Thank you in advance
