Root LG Optimus F3 Or Just A Repackaged Elite??

sinkist77:
Keep us updated on the phone. Have been debating about dropping the OE for months. Battery sucks and network is terrible. Sure miss the OV. My wife still has hers and is due for an upgrade.
Been watching the Samsung Galaxy Victory for a nice price and will see what people say about the LG Optimus F3.....

The Samsung Galaxy Victory was the best Virgin Mobile phone I've ever had...so sad I had to take it back cause the person who bought my HTC EVO V 4G ended up returning it. :(:(

If network is bad on the OE shouldn't you just stay away from a VM phone or any Sprint phone for that matter? Or is if just the OE and other VM phones are fine. I just keep looking at those Tmobile deals at BestBuy...... VM had its chance.....

It's the junk Optimus Elite phone.
I had the Optimus V, and my wife still has it. The OV works great using the network to browse the web. The OE on the other hand is terrible.

Never had issues dropping calls on the OV. The OE does drop them from time to time...

I had the optimus V for a year.
I never had any problem. And development for it was awesome. It had many ROMS. Even the Optimus S ROMS could be used aslong as you did a few build.prop changes and a button layout switch.

The Kyocera Rise(after my OV) and the Optimus Elite(after the Rise) were when I had problems. The Rise was S/W reated. The OE is probaly both H/W and S/W

Sounds spot on.

I'm looking forward to trying out the F3.

Actually in my personal experience the network does suck on the OE. I always dropped calls and had little to no bars. My Evo V always had full bars in the same area. (of 3g, I didn't get WIMAX in my area) And I get a really good LTE signal with the Victory.

Oh! so mabe service is not as bad as I think it just the phone crappy ass radio. I have heard that some of the more developed phones lol have got people making some kind of radio zip that you can flash which helps. there are lots of different ones which are more and less effective depending were you live.

I am trying to decide between the Victory and S2 since they are similar in price. I only have 3G data in my area.

Hmm Galaxy S2 been hearing about that for the longest so its got to have great Roms and other goods Victory haven't really heard of it till now nor have I ever seen one being used by someone so development cannot be that great right now. May i recommend going to there All Things Root and see which has the better Development. I would chose based on that.

They may at some point upgrade the system in which you could get 4G in your area.... depending how long you keep phones... myself, a long time.

I would also look at is the bluetooth. They are starting to do some neat things with 4.0 that 3.0 is not capable of doing.

Last thing, operating system... Galaxy II - ICS // Victory - JB

S2 has Jelly bean also.

There's no compairision between the 3 developement wise, the S2 has way more development. If that's important to the user.

The victory vs the F3 is a toss up, I would get the cheaper price of the two at the time. The S2 is older hardware wise (CPU and GPU), but it does have more rom, bigger screen, and better camera.

Yeah after thinking about it more the S2 is probably the best of those phones despite being 2 generations old and it is like half the price of the S3. The huge development community for it alone makes it worthwhile.

Ehh I have to disagree, the Victory is probably the best. Although you won't get your favorite ROM, the s4 processor makes it 2x as powerful as S2.

I was including the victory in my statement, all three are nice at that price point. The black Friday sales should be interesting. :)

The snapdragon 400 and adreno 305 of the F3 is slighlty better than the S4 lite and adreno 225 of the victory also.

Its just my estimation, being the new 400 series is just a new revision/optimization of the same s4 krait (200) core msm8960 base version (lite). The snapdragon 600 (in the Galaxy S4) being the replacement for last years big boy s4 pro.

The Samsung s4 mini and HTC One mini are running the same snapdragon 400 as the F3 too. Meaning it can't suck too much. I think, lol ;)
