Root 2.3.6 rooted stock rom to custom 4.22

Newbie question here... Can I flash a custom rom like Pacman or Jellybam directly over rooted stock 2.3.6 or should I load something else first ?
Sorry if this has been covered..I just can't find it...thanks

As long as the rom is compatible with your device and carrier version and youre rooted with custom recovery just make sure u do a data wipe and clear caches and it should be fine but remember you have to flash google apps (GApps) after it :thumbup:

Yeah wipe data, cache and dalvik, flash the rom then flash gapps. Have you made a backup in CWM incase anythin goes wrong?
Take it youve backed up your apps with titanium?

Yeah, I got everything backed up, it's a Note N7000 ...was just concerned about wiping because of the brick bug and thought I read somewhere that there was an extra step going from stock 2.3.6 to 4.22 custom. Between Pacman and Jellybam , which would you think is the most stable, I'd like to try a hybrid rom ?

Tbh id definately ask in the Note root forum for your carrier version incase there is a step you have to do. I dont own the phone so please dont rely on my advice lol. Yeah theyre good rom choices and both highly rated. Im using a hybrid too

EDIT. ive been thinkin, maybe those roms have to be flashed onto a phone running >4.0 so youd have to upgrade your stock rom first. Want me to ask a mod to move this to the right forum mate?

Well, I'm readin til my eyes are bleedin .....looks like I should be OK..I've settled on Pacman but I can only find nightlies for the N7000 on their site , any idea where I can find the last stable build ? Should be 22.2.0 or 23.0.0 ?

I know you don't have a note...thanks so much for the help

Lol i have no idea man but word on the street is their nightlys are pretty stable.
Im in love with illusion rom justnow which is a mix of the best parts of all the tasty roms right now and its smooth as butter. if its available for the Note, their latest beta is excellent :thumbup:

Give it a try at least and test that everything works. As long as you have a recent nandroid backup you can just switch back. Let me know mate :thumbup:
