What thing did you do when you first got your phone?

Where did you go to turn off autosyncing?

oh no, i don't remember any more, it was almost year ago.. but i think at first i turned off the sync-properties from my gmail-account, from settings.. then different kind of applications which want to sync your whole life

am i the only one who hates these sync-properties? it's like a never-ending story, everytime you thought that you turned off syncs you still find some app that wants to sync (or share) everything to somewhere over the rainbow or most likely to the server of Evil...

What thing did you do when you first got your phone? S4 newbie here, just wanted to know anything that you did... e.g. setup changed, settings configuration, apps installed...

And when I was like super lucky to get this (brilliant at the time) phone and my psycho friends saw me with it and they thought this:

First app-related thing I do is get Folder Organizer Pro set up like on my previous phone. Same categories, same folder icons (if I can find them). It's tedious to find and assign the icons, but in the end I have over a hundred apps organized into about 20 folders, that fit on less than two pages and are located in exactly the same positions as on my previous phone.

There are similar organizer apps. I think I got that one free from Amazon.

My first smartphone with an iPhone 3GS the first thing I did with that phone was set up my Apple account to my credit card and download a few apps that play with on my lg android phone, I also set up my email connected it and sent my dad an email thank you for buying me a new smartphone.
now my sister lost that phone and she is paying me back $100, so I can buy a new Nexus 7 tablet when it comes out.

The first thing I was interested in was how the phone would play with my Linux network and finding apps (eg, ssh droid and ES File Explorer) that helped. I couldn't find anything for the network printing side that worked as I wanted so, perhaps unusually for someone completely new to Android, and certainly surprisingly to me as a) I'd expected something built on Linux would have what I wanted built in and b) I'd had no plans on trying to be a dev (beyond maybe dabbling once in a while at a later date for personal amusement), within the first week of ownership, I was looking into writing an app.

First thing I did was switch off 2G/3G, and then connected my phone to my desktop & imported my contacts/calendar from ‘My Phone Explorer’ (I was using this s/w with my previous phone a Sony Eriksson K750i too). So in effect this app (was my first app installed), gets loaded when you connect to your computer via cable. Then copied new ringtones on to my memory card. Its only much later almost the *** end of the warranty period I built up enough courage to root my phone & tinker around with it. :D
