Google Music Through PC?

Audio is working fine for me from GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC.

Check your streaming settings on the music app. I have mine set @ high quality*. Might make a difference.

Keep us posted on your progress/results. :)

EDIT:

*I see this option is for mobile networks only, so, it probably won't make a difference. Sorry about that.

Have you tried it out on a TV?

Got my Chromecast today, it's awesome! However, I am struggling to play music from Google Music on my PC using Chromecast. It casts the video of the page, but no audio. Anyone get this working? Audio works casting from other webpages.

GOOGLE MUSIC works fine for me from PC to TV,as does the video accompanying the music.

Audio & video working from YOU-TUBE as well, watching the PHANDROID-CHROMECAST tutorial & simultaneously sending this post from my PC.(Tutorial video Cast to TV,posting on desktop screen).

I'm liking this Chromecast A LOT.

I can't seem to get audio to work for any webpage that is casted from my PC. If I drag a local song into chrome, that works. But Google Music, Beatport, etc. audio does not work from my PC. Wonder what's wrong?

Edit: In Google Music Labs, there is an option to use HTML5 audio, and that fixed Google Music! But I still can't get other websites to cast audio. Maybe I need to change a chrome setting?

Just for troubleshooting purposes, if you have any kind of blocking extensions activated in CHROME,see if temporarily disabling them have any effect.

Ditto w/your anti-virus. FWIW, I'm on WINDOWS 8,using WINDOWS DEFENDER & not having any issues w/CHROMECAST functionality.

It's unlikely any of these are affecting CHROMECAST one way or the other, but, just to rule it out.........

Has anyone found a way to use the Play Music web player (in the Chrome desktop browser with the Chromecast extension) as the control head for Play Music similar to the way the Play Music app on my phone does?

I want to manage my queue and find music via my browser, but I don't want to have to cast the browser tab to make it work. I want the music to keep playing even if I close my browser or reboot my computer.

Still no luck. :( I tried different computers and TVs too. I suspect something is weird because when I enabled HTML5 audio on the Google Music website (under the labs settings), the audio casted fine from there. But any other tab's audio does not work.
In addition to to UPnP, my router has a setting to allow or disable Windows media. Thanks to terrible documentation, I have no idea what that is but I have it on.

Do you have a setting like that you can try?

I don't think that's possible at present.
