Hello,
I was attempting to upgrade my phone to cm10 and have hit a wall.
i was following this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940632

I used odin to intsall ClockWorkRecovery 6.0.1.2 so that i could load the cm10 file from sd in the clockwork recovery..have not been able to see clockwork at all.

' odin_gingerbread_ucla4_boot_stock_recovery_cwr_601 2_system_no_bload.tar.md5.gz '

after flashing this file in odin my phone never restarted, can get into download mode but not recovery. i just get the battery logo for a couple of seconds when plugged in. and when i press and hold power and down vol i get the samsung logo for a second. sometimes is stays on there.

I am after the original Stock Boot + Stock Recovery + Stock System files.
I tried these and they made no difference.
' odin_gingerbread_ucla4_boot_stock_recovery_stock_s ystem_stock.tar.md5.gz '

have done heaps of googling and cant find a solution. any help would be appriciated. thanks

i thought i had done a back up but obviously not.. is there any simple way of getting it back?

from researching iv found that some people go back to gingerbread and start from scratch, i wanna give that a go but i cant find a stock gingerbread rom for the smart

There is an ODIN image with boot/recovery/system at https://nuskunetworks.box.com/s/ohi9gn060o1hsd4aee9j

If you flash the above, I think you might be able to use Kies to do an "emergency recovery" or similar that would include a flash of EFS.

i have an issue with that file. once flashed i can no longer boot into anything but download mode. unless i flash with apache-twrp-2.6.0.0 then i can force it into recovery mode with the 'abd reboot recovery' command from desktop when phone is powered on (nothing on screen) from there i can backup and put CM9 on. which boots fine.
again going back into recovery mode i restore the data file i backed up while gingerbread was installed but doesnt make a difference, i have not seen an actual EFS file anywhere.

am trying it out for a second time at the moment.

is there a CSC, MODEM & PDA i can try instead of using the package?

There isn't an efs image mirrored. And if it contains an imei number or serial it is kind of dangerous to share.

One way to get it reflashed is to do an emergency restore via kies.

that solution sounds too easy!
i have never been able to get kies to connect with the phone, even when it was in its original state, tried multiple computers.
when i try it when booted in cm9 it just says its connecting forever.

this is ****** lol

i'm about to see how tough this phone is with the sole of my boot

Try kies with the phone in download mode. Also try the latest version from the main kies site instead of from the phones driver section.

i have question, if i can install cm9 from twrp recovery in the 'install' part and it boots all good. could i install stock gingerbread in this way to start over again?
because installing the 'odin_gingerbread_ucla4_boot_stock_recovery_stock_s ystem_stock.tar.md5.g' in odin wont boot the phone after installation, and i cant get into stock recovery by pressing the buttons on phone or through adb boot recovery.

if only i can get it back to the original state so that i can backup the EFS and keep the imei for when i put CM9 back . then i can recover it and hopefully will get a working phone running cm9.

Yeah thanks for the help! But I'm not at 100% just yet,
1. Wifi connection will only connect within about 1meter of the router (have been using another phones hot spot too which is the same)
2. Ear piece speaker doesn't seem to work when receiving calls. When I put it on speaker phone I can hear the other person but its very echo-y for them
