This could potentially be related to your APN settings. They're specific to both your network. Without knowing specifics, your best bet is to google "Carrier Name APN Settings". For example, my network is Orange, so I'd Google "Orange UK APN Settings".

You can then enter these on your phone via: Settings -> More -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names.
