Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

speaking of....I hate when they put all the merchandise out months before the actual event.. there was back to school stuff already out the end of June! and..I'm sure Halloween stuff will be out there any day now! actually come to think if it I've seen some Thanksgiving and Halloween stuffed all incognito and wrapped up in lame Autumn theme disguises!

Oh and Season's Greetings...because I already saw Christmas lights and decorations starting to spew out on the shelves!!!

REALLY????

the only solace that I find in all the madness is that it just means that I'm deceptively closer to next year's "Holiday" than I thought:D:party:

It's called Christmas in July, and it's big here. I ignore it. The supermarkets keep it to one aisle, and the quilt shops don't bother. For the rest, I will use the internet. This town has nothing I want.
Michael's is good at it. They probably have a full aisle of Halloween stuff out and will change to Christmas by the end of the month.

Some of these retailers have tried to go one-up for so long, that they don't realize they are killing the real Christmas season for a lot of shoppers.

Let's see, what's grinding the ol' gears this week, lol...

Retired tourists that walk around other peoples' towns with a look on their face that says, "I just ate a dog turd." WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY SO UPSET ABOUT?!? If you're really that unhappy, keep your ass at home instead of coming into local establishments and treating people like the dog turd you just apparently put in your mouth.

God knows it must be such a burden to no longer have to work, and to be able to afford to travel around eating out and shopping at expensive shops (and if you can't afford it then you shouldn't be traveling, so stop bitching about all the money you're spending). I know, it's rough. But even if someone is a miserable human being that doesn't appreciate anything, you'd think they would at least try and be a decent person and not take it out on the innocent people around them. Some people's unwillingness to do this is the point where the merely miserable become the evil bastards of this world.

On my last day of work here I am going to call in the license plate of every piece of crap tourist who has parked in our VERY TINY work parking lot (which we have to share with other businesses) and have all their asses towed. Our workplace chooses not to really enforce illegal parking, so I'll be more than happy to do it myself and force a bunch of pompous, rude, miserable excuses for human beings to have to pay at least $70 to get their car out of the tow place. I would never park in someone's work parking lot. Especially not in one as tiny as ours, forcing the employees to park far away at a meter (thus getting multiple $10 parking tickets), sometimes in the dead of winter. If you don't wanna park legally and walk your lazy ass to the store, then don't freaking go shopping. :stupid:

Bridges that open up for every single thing floating and wishing to pass. Cars need to wait for every bridge during summer. One boat vs 5-25 cars...

WHOA! :( It seems like there should be some sort of bridge schedule for the boats or something... poor commuters!

(BTW, wherever that picture was taken is absolutely gorgeous! WOW!)

Nope, no schedule. They try batching them but they cannot wait too long for more boats to show up.

My village is behind the upper right corner :)
Notice the land being lower than the water level.

DOH! Just noticed that "The Netherlands" is plainly listed under your profile pic, lol. I thought that was where the pic was taken, but wanted to be sure. I used to stay in Amsterdam twice a year with my parents when I was growing up. Haven't been back since I was 18, miss it lots. :)

Rant #2... WARNING: this is very much a "white people problem" lol, or an "American's problem", if you prefer (heh!)

Yet another thing that grinds my gears? Trying to find reliable reviews when deciding on a new phone... on the Verizon website, the Galaxy Note 2 gets better customer reviews (out of over 900 ratings they have 4.8 out of 5 stars) than the iPhone 5 (yes, yes, I know...) AND the Galaxy S4.

Switch over to CNET, and their editors give the Galaxy S4 their highest rating ("Outstanding"), and give the Note 2 4 out of 5 stars. Blah, blah, woof, woof.

So now that I have absolutely no idea how to decide on a new phone except to ask you guys if you have experience with any of the phones I'm interested in.

Which of the following should I go with?
1) Galaxy Note 2
2) Nokia Lumina
3) Galaxy S4

My upgrade date is tomorrow, so come midnight tonight (yes, I am a tech geek! lol) I'm going with one of those 3. Help! Stoopid reviews! *grumble grumble grumble*

Nokia makes solid phones, the problem is the WinMobile OS. I just came from a brief stint with a Lumia 920 and I hated it. The app selection was meager at best, and many of the "staple" apps they do have don't work very well if at all (Facebook, pandora, etc), you can't change default apps to use for most things (browser for example), you can't change the home screen or launcher to my knowledge.
Stay Android.
Beyond that, I think it really is a personal experience thing. You need to go play with them both and decide what "feels" best. They are both going to offer pretty top of the line user experiences, same UI (almost totally, with the exception of some of the gimmiks the S4 offer), etc. In my opinion, one is just bigger than the other.

What grinds my gears? People that can't make up their mind!
:p;):p

Don't bother about this hide button because there is nothing of use in here!

Open this next one instead! :)

@Stinky: I'm up for suggestions!! Those are just the Top 3 from reading what reviews I've gotten hold of... as long as it's a Verizon phone, I'd love other recommendations!! :)

Hey will I am really glad some one came to me for advice for once!

Wow this is my lucky day!

Ever since the "bad days" when I was a career guidance counselor advising everyone to become a hobo joe because I believe eating out trash cans is so much fun so then nobody wanted to take my advice because they said it was madness.... :(

So hell ja of course I will give you some of my flawless advice! :)

You should get one of these babies!

I hear you can eat it too when if you are starving to death!

Awesome hey? :)

banana_phone3.jpg

I hear like poverty they are both very in right now! ;)

But naah all crazy jokes aside I would most probably get the Samsung S4 if I was Bill gates but I would have to sell my left kidney to get 1 though! :)

:D

You ain't appreciating the fact that they are SENIOR CITIZENS!!!
I have heard a couple of them rant and rave since no one would let them go to the head of a line and they had to wait!

They probably expect others to kowtow since their families know they are PITAs and won't kiss butt.

I can rant about the handicapped version. I almost got hit in a supermarket crosswalk since she was too important to stop at the stop sign.

SO TRUE.

:clapclapclap:

When "bob" at my little occupation passed a comment about "respect your elders" I wondered what to say because I seriously don't agree with that AT ALL.

He is about 13 and totally understood and totally agreed and could how true what i was about to say and so I replied in a clever manner and clever tone as I have been told by many to this so called "respect your elders" rubbish:

"Just because some one like me is older than you does not mean you should just give them your respect. ;)

Robert Mugabe is over 80 years old and is pretty similar to a modern Hitler and mass murderer or tyrant and it is his own people.

Just because he is several times older than me does not mean I respect him at all.

He is just scum to me.

Anyway,

And at the same time just because some one might be a lot younger than you does not mean you should not give them respect they might seriously deserve...

I was falsely told that you should respect your elders no matter what but no respecting your elders... not always true... it depends. ;)"

Then I showed him this video on my phone I have about this 6 year old Demi god drummer and how I seriously admire or look up to his incredible skill on the drummers and he is waaaay younger than me showing the different types of "respect" or "admiration" :)

I like to give extreme freedom here at my little part time job (obviously within some borders like no insults)... as long as you don't set the curtains on fire it's all good in the hood. ;)
