The Official Moto X Customization Thread!

So with the X release coming soon I thought that a thread made specifically for everyone to go and share they're customization thoughts and then later on pics of they're actual moto x phone would be really cool!

I'm basically on the fence at the moment if I will actually be getting a moto X, but after seeing it go through some paces and seeing that it's a pretty capable and speedy device, as well as being fully customizable... I must say my interest has piked quite a bit.

So here it goes...

My X designed using moto maker would be the following colors

Front of phone- Black
Back plate- Dark stealth grey
Buttons and accents- Brushed aluminum

If I do indeed get this phone I will 100% be getting this color mix and will update my post in the coming weeks with pics...If everyone who posts here can do the same that would be awesome.

Well, IF I wait for Moto Maker (I'm not the most patient person on Earth), mine will be black bezel, light wood back with gold trim

If they come out with say an dark ebony colored wood I'll be all over that!
But I'm hearing not till the 4th quarter for wood backs.

I don't really care about the customization of colors. But at the moment I probably will go for the dark red because of university colors. I may go with one of the blues or possibly something similar to the OP.

I'll really be playing with MotoMaker when it gets up and running this month in preparation to purchasing my new phone at the end of this month when my upgrade becomes available.

I'm curious to also see how many people have they're phone engraved or have a phrase loaded onto the boot up screen?

I thought about it for a whole 5 seconds and then remembered that I usually don't hold onto my phones that long and they usually end up getting sold within a very short few months. And I don't want anything to diminish the resale value, custom colors are cool, but engraving is a whole other ball game IMO.

Probably the day they release the phone, which in turn will choke the site and it will go down because so many people will be on it at the same time...lol

Similar to when the play store just completely bonked out and went down during the nexus 4 release. These manufacturers love that stuff, reports will be flying around saying due to overwhelming demand the site crashed and it's now a 2 to 4 week wait for custom moto X phones.

I will be waiting for the TMobile version, I am ready to jump ship from ATT. Hopefully they will get the customizations as well. And hopefully by the time that rolls around there will be some additional options.

IF I HAD to get one at launch from ATT using the existing customizations I'd go black front panel, dark blue back panel with the silver accents.

Ideally I'd like dark gray front and back with dark blue accents, currently not available under the existing options.

The problem with engraving is it ruins resale.

I will probably stick with a pretty standard black combination.

I wish you could engrave something cool, like the Superman "S" or the bat symbol. THAT would be cool and not hurt resale - the right person anyway.

So even though I just want a plain white one, if I go into AT&T are they actually going to b selling the 32gb version or is that on moto maker only?

32 GB version will only be available on Motomaker at launch for AT&T. There has been no announcement yet as to whether they will offer 32GB on other carriers at all. Also no word if the standard black and white in stores will ever be offered with a 32GB option.

Agreed, it's sad they have made any concessions to a single carrier in this roll out. It should be available for all.

Has anyone confirmed that 32GB is a $50 difference based on the on contract price when designing the phone on moto maker?

Strongly considering going back to att. I left them in September because I wanted to go back to Verizon for some reason. I cannot stand how Verizon never has any good phone right away.

I just moved so I am hoping att service will be good at my new place. Probably going to switch from giant evil company to a slightly less evil one. Just slightly less

With news that Verizon won't be getting Moto-Maker until November, how many of you Verizon customers are going to get this phone in plain old black or white?

I really think this phone is for me. It's beautiful, innovative, and just the right size. Waiting until November is an option, but considering my impulsiveness and the fact that I lost my spare battery for my Galaxy Nexus, not a great option. Instead I am thinking of biting the bullet and getting it in black on August 23rd.

What about you?

I really like the idea of this phone too. I am also on Verizon but think I will have to hold out until November for the 32GB option. Not sure I really care about colors but 16GB is not enough.

By the time November rolls around, it'll either be the X or the Galaxy Note 3 for me; 2 vastly different phones. Personally, the color options mean little to me though the 32GB is what I want. Seeing as there will be similar active notification apps makes me lose a tiny bit of interest in the X, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh man, I'm having a hard time deciding between Moto X, HTC One, and Droid MAXX.

If chose the Moto X, I would want WHITE front bezel, WHITE textured back, and BLUE accents.

IF they had bamboo for wood choices, I'd pick white front, and light green accents.

I wonder if they will allow people to change their designs later on, for a fee of course. That could be another revenue stream for them. Moto X kiosks at the Mall. Being customizable like this, perhaps the tear down and repairability might not be too hard, and one so inclined could change those cosmetic parts themselves.
