Nexus5. Any Date For Release?

I am in the market for a new phone so I can move to prepay. My wife has the Nexus4 and loves it.

Anyone have any idea when the Nexus5 (or what ever it will be called) will be released? I could get a Nexus4, but if the Nexus5 is just around the corner, it would be worth waiting.

I do not want the HTC One or the S4 as they are way too expensive and not pure Android. For the price difference between the HTC and the Nexus4 I could pay for 6 months of service.

No definite announcements, but if history is any guide you can expect something around November - just in time for holiday shopping, anyway. That's quite some time away, though ..

Quite agree with you about the HTCs etc: they're excellent (particularly the new One) but I have the Nexus 4 and for me, while they're better, they're not that kinda money better - but them I'm really, really tight :D

One minor point: there's no guarantee that the Nexus 5 will be priced like the Nexus 4 .. You have to hope it will, but the Nexus 4 was something of a departure, price-wise.

Lots of rumors about Nexus 5 release date are pointing out to a Q4 2013 launch of the upcoming Google smartphone. Allegedly, it will be $30 more expensive than the predecessor, Nexus 4.
Though there is no exact Nexus 5 release date announced yet, there are various speculations indicating different possible launch schedules for the device. For instance, according to International Business Times, Nexus 5 release date may be set for November since its predecessor, the LG-built Nexus 4, was unveiled that same month last year.
