Hi guys, please help me. someone stole my phone earlier this day and i hadn't noted down the imei number. but i went to google dashboard and got it. So now that i have it, what do i do next to try and get my phone back. also please, can anyone tell me if there any chances of getting it back?
Please everyone. i can't tell you how much i would appreciate your help

So there's no way i can get my phone then. Best i can do is not let anyone else enjoy it by blocking it. right?

Most "user" available tracking software requires you to have it already installed on the phone.

the manager I linked is from Google so it doesn't. It's possible the phone is "off" or the person is somewhere inside where they don't get GPS.

I would try the site a few times of a couple hours.

okay, thanks. one more thing. The IMEI number on my box (below the barcode) is not matching the number google dashboard has recorded. there are 2 number that are different. so now which number to i give to my service provider? any idea?

You don't need to, your provider has the correct one in their system for your account (its how they link the account,#,phone)

I don't know if this will help you or not. My daughters phone was stolen a few weeks ago. I signed up for the trial version of family locator with Sprint. You would have reactivate the phone(you can have it deactivated later), and it would have to be on and in sprints service area. I don't who your carrier is, but maybe they have a similar plan. Good luck.

Try this app found in the Google Play Store:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout.labs.planb

Description
Plan B is your last resort to find your missing phone.
This is the first and only 'find my phone' app that you download AFTER you've already lost your phone. Having Lookout on your phone is the best way to protect your phone and find it fast, but use Plan B if you have already lost your phone and didn't have Lookout installed.

Best to try those location apps with the GPS off and see what results you get before you actually need them. I have not had much luck with them. However, if you have location services enabled, Cerberos can locate your phone. A thief can quickly switch off GPS. But it will take more of a determined effort to turn off location services. Or so I've read.

I recently switched from Lookout to Cerberos because of this. I've also started leaving the GPS on all the time having learned that the GS4 will not excessively drain the battery by doing so. The GPS is only tasked when needed.
