Galaxy S4 Cases and covers!

I always like buying cases and there are so many to choose from, I had 4 for my S3 and now I am onto my S4 and already am on my 3rd case, I originally bought the Tech21 Flip case as I thought having the cover would be nice to protect the screen but it soon became a hassle opening and closing it constantly, I then decided to go with the Otterbox Commuter case as I liked the protection it offered and the feel of it, I also installed the HD Invisible Shield instead of the one that came with the Otterbox box to add protection to the open screen. I then came across the Spigen SGP Slim Armor View case and it looked amazing, it had the flip front cover with the window and also the cover was removable which was an added bonus and it just is an overall nice looking case and fits my S4 like a glove so I am happy to say I am sticking with this one for a little while....lol

im torn between the Spigen slim armor and neo hybrid

I have both of those cases. I love the slim look of the neo hybrid case, but, I've found that the power button seems very sensitive with that case. I carry my phone in my front jeans pocket and have actually had it power on, or off, or reboot, several times while in my pocket using that case.

So, while I tend to favor the look of the new hybrid, I usually carry it in the slim armor case (which also looks awesome).

This helps a lot with my decision thanks.

Have you had a chance to look at the Spigen Slim Armor View case? That's the one I picked up and I love it, I wanted a case that had the front protective cover but the option to remove it when not needed, the case is identical to the Slim Armor when the cover is removed, I know for me it took
awhile for there is so many cases out there to choose from now...lol

I like that a lot especially since it comes in blue. Thanks

I've got my eye on this one (lol I'm looking at cases and haven't got the phone yet).

Anyone have this case, and if so how are you liking it? I'm wondering how often it mashes on the Home button.

It's a great case, I have used it for almost 3 weeks now and love the look and feel of it, I bought it due to the front cover is removable, I had the Tech21 case and hated the fact you could not use the camera when the cover was flipped, with this case you can still use the camera when its flipped due to the s-view window. The case also comes with it's own home button so you can answer calls when the cover is on. And the s-view window is interactive so you can still answer calls or emails.

Thank you! I'll more than likely get this one then!

My boyfriend bought the Google S4 for me (early birthday present) last night, so hopefully it will be here by this weekend if not Monday. I'm pretty excited.... I swore I wouldn't upgrade because my G-Nex is still perfect. Ah well. I couldn't be rude and say no to such a nice gift! :D

Where did you get that red cover? I found a bunch on ebay but am worried about the aluminum affecting the signal? Do you notice any signal drop with the cover on?

I found them on Amazon... reviews state it causes loss of signal integrity. If they would of been plastic to look like brushed metal, then they would have sold me on a couple.

Just ordered this case yesterday and got it today (mobilefun.co.uk). I think I finally found a keeper! It's a little expensive considering it's not leather, but the case stays closed (point #1) and all the holes are in the right place (point #2). I like the red colour and the phone fit securely in place.

I saw this on SD and passing it along as FYI. I don't have this case (I have one with a kickstand).

Amazon has iOttie Macaron Protective Case Cover for Samsung Galaxy S4 (Various Colors) for $9.99. Free shipping with Prime (free student accounts available) or if you spend $25 or more. Use slick fillers to find other eligible items to help reach the $25 requirement.

Have to be honest- VERY disappointed with the OtterBox Commuter case for this phone. Compared to Commuters for other phones I've owned, feels very cheap.

Did a review here if helpful to anyone- link below. Of course, just my personal opinion on it but just don't feel it's same quality as previous versions for different phones. Have a great on on the Note 2...
Not sure what happened with this version- was it rushed?
Definitely going to look into some of the cases posted here- thanks for the thread!

This case looks awesome, I won some cases for the s4 one is a leather jison case black with flip cover price is $45 and a battery case from tmart.com that is $20 got them a couple days ago might try to sale them and get this case. I like those cases but that one seems to have everything I wanted.

I just ordered this case last night. Kinda bummed that, at $50, it's double the price of its variant without the front cover. But it is what it is. Hopefully I like it.

Received my black Spigen Slim Armor S View case last week and after about a week of use I just wanted to give a quick update.

1. I really like the look, very rugged, stealthy. It adds a little weight to the phone but not heavy. Coming from the Note 2 I found this phone to be very light.

2. The window is cool since you can answer the phone from the front without opening. Talking on the phone with the case closed is cool too. I wish I could do more from the window like pull down notifications or whatever.

3. The flap folds all the way open so it's not just hanging out there. It also comes off but haven't used it that way yet.

4. Taking pictures can be a pain with the flap. If you fold it all the way open, the window makes the pics blurry so you have to have the flap open half way. It makes taking pics a little awkward.

5. Access to all ports, etc are good. Several chargers, 3.5mm cables fit with no problems.

6. I have to get used to opening the flap, can be a pain. I've figured out the easiest way is to hold with my right hand and push open with my thumb.

It was a little expensive but cheaper than Samsung's S View case but much nicer.

Make sure you buy from a reputable seller, there are fake ones out there and Spigen provides an authentication code for verification.

OtterBox Commuter Samsung Galaxy S4 Review - YouTube

I have the all black and gray and white Outterbox Commuter case. They are both made in China and are well made. I had the same case for my Atrix 4G and one of the things I didn't like about it was that the silicone piece, over time, lost its shap and stretched out. (It felt to soft). Compared to my current case, the silicone piece is much stiffer and not as flimsy. (Big improvement over the one on my Atrix 4g). All the port cover fit tight and not flimsy. No peeling off of the paint around the camera. I only paid $30 each for my cases. One from Amazon and Best Buy.

So maybe you got a bad case or its because it was made in the US. I'm glade to see they have all the colors you mentioned.

I've got an Otterbox Commuter case in all black and I dislike it. The power button is WAY too difficult to press when you want to rubber piece doesn't fit too well. There is a spot on the top left and bottom left where the plastic piece bulges out awkwardly because of how the rubber corner 'bumpers' fit or don't fit as it were. In addition the plastic piece covers the charge port to where the Verizon charger w/the LED won't clear to plug it in. There should be a small half-circle notch on the top part of the cutout to clear this. If I was planning to keep the case I would make this modification quickly with a dremel and a sanding wheel but I think it's going back in favor of a Seidio Surface. I really like the idea of how easily they come off for replacing batteries and having a kick stand. FWIW, my mother and wife both have this case in different colors and they seem to fit a little bit better than mine but the other issues are still present.

Ahh- thank you for the answer the a question I was trying to find! I posted another thread on this... should I swap it out for an all black, hoping the "regular" OtterBox colors were the same good silicone as in my other cases- the ones made in China.
The silicone does feel too soft & doesn't not feel like it will last. So I'm thinking the black/black or gray/white case may be the answer... because I do like the style of the case.
I paid almost $50 for the case- $45 or so plus tax... in that ballpark.

I was curious if the new color silicone was just different- noticing the "Made in USA" is an indication that the manufacturing has changed from previous versions I own.

Thanks, itsallgood!!
