I am on 4.2.2 and I am unable to sync my Gmail to my phone. It will alert me of new emails and allow me to read them but any action taken, with an email, on my phone is not replicated to my Gmail account. For instance, if I open a previously unopened email, on my phone, and archive it then go to my computer (even hours later) it will still show as unread and in my Inbox. I have no issues with two exchange accounts or any other push or pull notifications.

The issues started happening around the time that Gmail went to a tabbed inbox. I turned it off hoping that would fix the issue but it did not.

This is getting VERY frustrating. Does anybody have a fix for me to try?

I just went through my Gmail settings on my pc to try and find something that may help you. Came up with nothing.

Have you tried signing out of your computer Gmail, then sync phone Gmail, then re-sign in on pc?

I've never experienced the issue but hopefully that will help.

Yes, I have tried that. The odd thing is that if I archive a message on my phone it isn't replicated to Gmail. However, if I manually sync Gmail on my phone it does not show the message in the Inbox even though it does on my computer. So it is as if the phone is remembering actions taken on individual messages and those actions override whatever is in the Inbox.

Have you checked to make sure your pc settings are in concert with your phone settings? I personally have never had the issues you're referring to. Gmail has always worked flawlessly between my phone and pc. The desktop version was recently updated and I had to go in and change some things/disable some features to have the desktop version and the phone on the same page so to speak.
