Root Boot up Security error after attempted root (MetroPCS)

Moderators, I was able to resolve the issue before getting a response feel free to lock/delete this thread if necessary.

So I attempted to root the LGMS769 (MetroPCS) by following a guide over on XDA (the Lelus Method), I read in another thread that I can use the "modified 11th .bin file" along with our own firmwares .kdz file to achieve root. (I used the wrong .kdz file like a dumbass)

Low and behold once I finished the last step and the phone rebooted, instead of getting a rooted phone I am greeted with "Security Error" after the LG logo and the phone won't boot.

I tried doing a master reset and that didn't work, I then tried going into "S/W Upgrade" mode and using The LG Mobile Support Tool but it keeps failing at about 15% claiming that the phone isn't connected or something.

The guide actually mentions that as being a known issue and the work around was to boot up, set the PC Connection on the phone to "LG Software" mode and flash the firmware... Unfortunately I can't use that same work around since I can't boot up the phone now.

Update: I managed to fix the issue, I was using the "Offline fix flash method" at first and that didn't work... using the LGMobile Support Tool normally (where it downloads the firmware and drivers....etc) got my phone working again... its still not rooted but at least I know how to fix it..... time to go Bawlz Deep and try rooting again!

Listen, I had the same issue with stopping at 15 percent. Phone not detected.. Get the right kdz from xda.. And the proper already hexed bin.. Start phone normally. Hook to PC. Make sure it is in lg software mode. Run online update again. It will work as long as you have the mini server set up right. It will automatically turn on to software update mode.. Worked perfect for me.

Thanks for the reply Brah :D

Yea I eventually figured out what I was doing wrong and managed to get Root and CWM installed, at this point I just need to figure out how to unlock the bootloader.

Tonight I'm gonna try cleaning out some bloatware until we get a good custom rom for the MetroPCS variant of our phone.

I'm hitting the bootloader tonight..

Let me know how that goes, I know that the T-Mobile variant has a method which involves flashing the European version of their firmware then navigating through a flipped image OS to do some other stuff...etc

Seeing as our Metro phones don't have a custom rom yet I didn't feel the need to experiment just yet.

It's the same I believe with the only difference being flashing the proper .kdz file after

That's all the incentive I need to start working on unlocking the bootloader, Thanks Brah.

I think I recall using some of BobZhome's roms back when I was with Virgin Mobile and had an Optimus V.

Ok so I managed to get the Bootloader unlocked which is cool and I flashed back the Stock Metro Rom (V10B_00.kdz) but I'm still getting an inverted LG logo and home screen when I first boot up.

Turning the screen off and back on via power button will fix it for the duration of my phone being on, however when I reboot it goes back to inverted screen on LG logo and Home screen until I hit the power button twice again.

Any permanent fix for that? I already tried a factory reset and that didn't fix it.

Also is there a quick way to get into fastboot once the bootloader is unlocked?

The LG logo will all ways be inverted, that's part of the unlocked bootloader...but I have fix the home screen in my cm10 builds.

How did you do it?

I did the same thing and now I can't get it to go past the Security Error. Please tell me (in detail) how you got it back to stock and able to use it as a phone again?

I'm at my wits end right now. I've been working on this for the last 5 hours!

Hi Guys Help needed
I have a metro pcs LG MS769 . I would like to know if flashing would remove the "sim service provider lock" .I plan to use lyca mobile as it uses T mobile network but when i insert lyca sim it shows sim is service provider locked.

Also has anyone tried a different sim after flashing/unlocking the bootloader ?Any suggestion to remove "service provider lock".

I tried earlier but windows 8 was acting funny with it.... I'm re-downloading it right now thanks mobileplay :) I got the drivers to install but I get to a inverted LG boot up screen that says fastboot but then what? I tried running the update tool still tells me my phone is missing at 15% I had the server thingy running I even re-downloaded the fireware.

You cant run the update tool from fastboot, just flash the bootloader which it seems you have done since your getting the inverted LG logo and thats a good sign. Now turn your phone off, plug the usb cable in and then hold the volume up and power button, that should put you in recovery mode and from there you should be able to flash your kdz.

It wouldn't flash I had been trying all day, maybe I need another computer or something. It gets stuck at the 15% still and says phone not connected. I'm running window 8 turned off driver security and all to try to get it to work but no luck. Also couldn't finda extended battery for it yet guess I'll have to search harder on both the issues.
