Picked up a Galaxy Tab 3 10...happy with it so far except for playing back MKV files with certain apps.

BS Player...i'll either get audio and no video or video and no audio depending on the settings...anything i set it to doesn't get me audio and video. This is no issue at all on my Galaxy Note though playing directly from device or streaming from PC

MXPlayer...only getting audio..no video.

The videos stream fine for the most part using Qloud though.

Any ideas?

I guess it was BS losing Dolby rights...went to an old version i had backed up and audio/video worked fine...but latest version of BS seems to work fine again now too...nice.

TBH I don't think BS Player ever had Dolby rights, not a freebie video player from Slovenia. One thing Dolby licensing can be horribly expensive. But it's probably easy enough to make a codec or more likely just find an open source codec compatible with say 5.1 though.

VLC certainly plays Dolby encoded content no problem, plus DTS as well, and no way is that licensed, it can't be it's open source.

whoops, yeah, that's what I meant. I just remember a changlog saying he had to disable Dolby.

My favs just happen to be BS for the popout window and MX.
