Help Connecting GS3 to TV

Can anyone offer any assistance in how to connect my phone to my tv to allow for viewing of content (videos) that are on my phone on the tv? I don't have a smart TV, but I do have a BluRay player that is connected to the same wireless connection as the phone.

I get as far as seeing the symbol on the upper left of the screen when watching videos on my phone but when I click it, I get a message that no devices are available.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

My samsung bluray has allshare play. Never used it with my phone though. I can see my laptops with it and played video from them before but not the simplest or stable way to go.

Id defo get the chromecast. You can use a MHL-HDMI cable but its messy and i find that they break easily. As far as i know the chromecast wont play your own content "yet" though :thumbup:

I play phone videos to my tv through my xbox 360. Both devices have to be on the same home network but it works great.

Hi, there is an app out in beta called cheapcast which I have used successfully between android phone and tab to stream video, I don't know if it will do what you want.

Buy a western digital wdtv+ smp media player. That's the easiest way I find connecting gs3 to tv.

Has anyone tried this app? if you have an old android with HDMI output lying around you can plug it into your tv and use it as a chromecast :thumbup: (youll need home wifi though)
